puresoul build?
so i've been browsing for hours and looking at lots of soul builds and I started wondering. all these builds use all 3 souls and only tap into like 30% of the possibilities. why not make a 2 soul build which gets some of the better things unlocked? or even a pure soul build which goes all the way to 51 points spent?
well I started looking at the various souls and decided against the pure soul build (44 to 51 is a LOT of points) and after a while even thought that the 44 spell is kindof a leap (next highest is 38). and I realize that the lvl cap will be higher in the future which will, Im guessing, allow for at least 1 full soul with the other 2 at at least half.
but given that thats a few major patches or updates down the road, what do ya'll think? keep the char well rounded or capitalize on one commodity?
anyways, here's a healer specc'd cleric I have been toying with (been using almost primarily warden specc'd in the beta, though i did try a sham/dru/just build which was fun):

Actually, this happens to be my planned end-game melee Cleric build.
Chloromancer looks like a class that benefits greatly from going almost pure with.

I'm intending to go with a puresoul Warlock build.

The warlock 51 point ability looks amazing, and I think will make such a build very viable. Also, the 44 point AoE Fear will be very nice as well.

This will be my build for the whole game.
I am not sure if anything major for the builds will change for when the game goes LIVE, so it is subject to change.

I don't think you can go "pure". The game gives you a message "You can't put any more points in that soul until you level".
I believe you're forced to go at least two souls, or you can't use all your points.

i did notice that Z, but honestly, whats the point of having the 51 spell if its not possible to get it? and from my varoius re-speccing of my cleric, i saw that 18 or 19 was the max I could put in at lvl 20, but i didn't keep track of the max per level. coupling that with the fact that in some levels they give you 2 points instead of 1 (again didn't keep track of when) i imagine that there will be a level when its possible to put in more than your current char level. maybe not till 50, but i'd wager a bet that it's possible since they included the 51 spell.
unless thats just leaving the door open for future expansions... hmm....

Many of us complain about.
Actualy probably very few class are viable going for the 51th point (you just have to give too much to get only a few more root skill and you must use every single ability of your tree and lets face it. Some of these aren't that great).
I can see a few healer build for raids beeing viable, (a 51th warden and a 51th sentinel will be bether to a raid force then 2x player playing the hybrid version of sent+warden 32/32 souls point). For grouping going hybrid sent+warden give simply so much more then going for a pure build.
A pure necro build might be ok for PvE grouping and maybe raid content dealingg low AoE damage will be viable. But for soloing/PvPing I fear that you will have to invest a lot of point in either cloro and/or Warlock.
As I see it 51th build will probably be more of a raiding thing. I can realy see the use of a 51th warlord in a raid since everything he will do will benefite greatly to the whole raid force. But in solo and single group content I fear that you will have to go the hybrid root to cover the weakness of your primary soul.
Edit: souls point rule cap for a single soul is your curent level (so at lvl 20 you can have 20point spent) and you gain 1soul pts every level + about every 3 level.

2 things to note:
1, as of lvl 26 I couldn't add more than 26 points into one soul.
2, I do remember from a ten-ton-hammer interview about guild points being available for spending at certain points as a guild levels up. u get 2 points for each milestone, one for combat related stuff (kinda vague there) and one for non-combat stuff, aka crafting, which is what that portion of the interview was about. sooooo, that combat related point may go towards increasing a soul tree past it's owner's level maybe? anyone in a guild during beta that can confirm any of this?
and are they called guilds? noob question of the day here lol, but I grew up with clans in L2, and have had player orginizations called everything from corporations (shout out to EVE) to legions, and lots in between... officially its "guild" right?
