Hrmm... I may have imagined the post about Rogues not getting a healing soul (though it does seem extremely illogical that Trion would suddenly decide one of the Callings should get all four roles.)
One last new post... Zinbik just said that the Cleric's image on the Storm Legions website was just a placeholder and had no bearing on the new soul. I wonder if Warrior's is the same way... guess we'll find out.

Nothing would please me more than those images to be mere trolling.
However... it's not like the mage silhouette we saw in the Mage reveal email turned out to be different.

Cleric soul could be anything except healing. With 3 healing trees we have every mix of strategies covered. And if they confirmed it's not tanking, it's either melee or ranged dps.
So far we have:
Melee with lightning damage and not so great aoe.
Melee with life damage that heavily leans on pet.
Ranged with life and death, focused on single target.
Ranged with death, focused on aoe.
Also consider that we have access to fire and water spells in our healing trees. I only mention this because what we don't have access to is earth magic, so that's one possibility.
If it were earth magic, I'd call it a melee tree with more focus on aoe. Like a warrior.
If it's anything else, it's probably another casting tree. This time I'd believe all life damage, or possible some fire/water combo.
Either way sounds like fun.

Hello, just gt back to playing rift after severam months of laying low trying out afew other games, and watching the changes that have happened in rift.
For me where new class ideas are concearned i would love to see either the rogue (would fit i think better in rogue), or warrior arche-type get a soul that is more about using as well as specilizing in the weilding of a single one-handed weapin (axe, sword, hammer, dagger, what have you.). In ways like a fencer or dueler style class type, that is more about aaccuracy of hits, debuffs (mayve afew buffs.), maybe even having some tools to added both threat as well as increased avoidence to starting tanks (without maybe making the soul a full on tanking soul, kinda like the bladedancer.). To make up for the lack of stats that other souls which can or do dual wield, giving them a deep talent or root ability that increases the statical values (damage, attack speed, stats, and such.) of the single one-handed weapon you are weilding, as long as you do not dual weild, Even going into making any amount of excess hit rating that your character has over the hit needed to actually hit a target is converted into raw damage, or such might be interesting. Though I would rather see it placed into the finishers in the soul that as you build up more an more hit raaiting, your damage, effect, durations, and such of those finshers could either be aguemented, or even changed. Such as having a finisher that snares a target for 4 seconds (purely made up for the sake of arguement.) which could increase up to a cap of 10 or 15 seconds based on how much hit you have, while if you gain enouph hit rating it is instead made into a light stun of 3 seconds or so. While another example would be a pin-point attack to the target's heart or major organs for high damage, while having a dot effect as well that is ncreased in overall damage based on your ht rating, yet at a certain level of hit rating it is a instent kill (most likely a chance on instent kill with the chance increased by a percentile on how much hit you have).Too me though the class would be mostly alot of debuffs to weaken your targets, cc that is for controling and keeping close to yoru target. This kind of sooul would make sense since it is not completely a tanking soul, and yet also would synergize well with some or most of the other souls in both souls, while also giving a new style an feel to play in the souls too.
