Is the 3/3 in Ethereal Bond for prevention of energy starvation?

Yes, without it and Binding of Death you will likely run out of power.

Is the 'chance' a better thing to have from Power of the Masses than the dmg dealt back as healing from Master of the Abyss? - with a point to spare to put into Soul feast for other return healing, since we use Soul Sickness alot

Power from the Masses is central to the mitigation of 38 reaver specs, along with Binding of Death. 2/5 or 3/5 is sufficient to guarantee close to 100% uptime in a group.

Master of the Abyss is largely useless at level 50 once you get tanking gear as the health is returns is based off its damage and not your own health.

Could 1 point be 'safely ' pulled from somewhere to be put in Tempered Will, even though everyone has Break Away now?, 2 'Remove controls' better than 1?

Personally I don't have any points in Planar Attunement and have those points instead in Tempered Will, Soul Feast/Soul Devour, and Power from the Masses, but really none of those are that useful (except 3/5 power from the masses IMO), so you could just as well put those points in Planar Attunement. Soul Feast and Soul Devour are mainly to get steady healing from Soul Sickness but again this healing is based on damage done. You aren't going to get far without proper healing either way.

Thanks, for the discussion, and the reasoning. Its this that I find I need to work on building a spec, that I don't always gather from guides.
