    Default FUN classes?

Well I've already done my research, but I'd like some opinions.

I currently have a rank 21 rogue, I love playing rogues, you have to have some amount of skill to be good as a rogue. My problem right now is a rank 1 heal spec mage can out heal most of my dps. My gear doesn't suck, my build doesn't suck, I don't suck (I'm not the best, but i assure you I'm far from a noob when it comes to rogues) just rogues seem to have crap damage. I've made some threads about this, everyone said spec ranged and stay the hell away from people, oh good, yeah, my damage still sucks. Unless there's a huge dps increase with rogues in pvp from rank 21-40, which I haven't seen in r40 rogues, I don't see any reason for the pvp grind if a cleric will still be able to out dps me with 2 DoTs.

Soooooo, since it seems another game I enjoy is phasing out rogues all together, what class actually requires some thinking to play? Warriors pretty much kill everything, but they seem to mostly be macromacromacro/win, clerics seem somewhat fun, I've just never really been interested in the class in general, and mages while fun, seem a little too helpless if someone gets close to you for my taste.

What classes are interesting for pvp? Something where tactics and strategy actually play a role in winning or losing? I don't mind losing for lack of skill, but when I lose because every other class's spammable skills hit for more than my 5cp finishers, I start to lose interest.

OR, can some high rank rogues tell me what I'm missing to make me so weak? Right now the only sure kills are low rank rogues who don't know how to play rogues.

You could try rolling a mage and see if you can heal other players through rogues damage. You'll probably discover some more effective ways at handling the situation when you're playing a different role in the battle.

I have a level 23 mage, and he is quite fun in PvP so far, but end game pvp seems to be a whole different story for every class from <50. Whether I'm healing or dpsing, I enjoy it, i just have some work to do on learning to get out if someone gets in melee range. I haven't pvped much as a warrior or cleric, so I was hoping for some information on them as well as info on all classes at 50.

As a rogue, doesn't matter what spec I am, I get focused since rogues are easy kills, and even if I can kite them, I'm still screwed. I just can't seem to find anything that rogues have over other classes other than stealth, which to be honest, doesn't help much unless you want to avoid combat all together.

Being weak at low rank is fine, it's being useful that I want. I don't see how I'm really useful as a rogue even at max rank, unless all I do is gank, which I'm not a fan of.

I'm working on leveling up a Rogue to 50 right now, but from my experience as a healer at 50, I'd say a low-rank Marksman supporting a higher-ranked Warrior/Melee DPS does wonders.

Before you gain the DPS and brute force of higher-ranked or PvE gear, you might try focusing more on utility and how you can help others. Marksmans' Eradicate and Deaden is immensely helpful for taking down healers. You can also time your burst with another player to try and take things down. Bard is excellent for support as well.

Since you say you're getting focused, I'd try something with Riftstalker. 44 MM/22 RS is an awesome build for staying alive and providing good utility. There are many iterations of a battle Bard you can try. I'm not an expert on Rogues, but I do pay attention when talented ones kill me. It's always a pain when a MM purges my Serendipity procs over and over. It screws over my ability to heal quickly.

I have tried that, I've tried pretty much everything, my problem is I don't want to only ever be a support dps. When I'm rank 40 I'd like to actually get some solo kills, not just happen to get some killing blows while ganking.

And with rogue damage as it is, I can only see them ganking, and killing weaker players, never getting solo kills on players of equal standing.

By the way, under 50 rogues are awesome, at 50 in wfs, unless you spec sab and hope no one ever thinks to target you, you're pretty much useless for the most part. Unless debuffing and spreading vamp are the only things you ever want to do in pvp, useful for the group? Yeah, fun, and gives you a sense of accomplishment for grinding 40 ranks? Not so much.

I made a cleric alt, sometimes it nice to play a class that you don't have to really pay attention while PvPing.

Can you post the build(s) you use?

I'm mainly a raider, (only Rank 9 PVP), but as long as you have a two piece set bonus you can use 51 MM 15 Ranger / 0 Riftstalker with the Ranger Crystal for instant cast Shadow Fire and Splinter Shot. Still use Vampiric and Electrified Munitions for most situations.

If you don't have, or don't want to use the greater/infernal mark of ascension gear, 44 Marksman / 22 Riftstalker / 0 Bladedancer is another great build that is much more sturdy, but plays similarly.

I personally prefer the aforementioned setup since it hits harder. Besides, with all the tools at your disposal (Repelling Shot, Retreat, On the Double, Shadow Shift, Quick Reload, Break Free), it's really hard to get caught unless you overextended/tunnel vision.

The main pointers I'd give when playing MM of any variation 44+ is to try to maintain 30+ at all times, use Barbed Shot and Eradicate liberally, and if you find you can't ST people down yourself, find a strong DPS on your team and assist train (Cast on Target's Target).

For Melee, a Nightblade / Riftstalker variant will do quite well due to all of it's defensive cooldowns.
