Cleric, because the only dot in the game that's going to kill somebody is actually a bolt.

    Just to be different, rogue.

Assassinate, puncture, jagged strike, impale. Some mighty powerful dots to stack up.

Mage has the main DoT class but ironically Rogues High Explosives and Cleric Sanction/Vex hits harder than Mage DoTs. Mages have more DoTs to stack though.

Difference is, Mage Warlock is a craptastic PvP class because it's DoTs are so weak. Cleric Inquisitor (nuke+dots) or Rogue Saboteur (nuke+dots) actually hit like a truck and leave nasty dots behind after the burst has been done.

However if you're talking PvE, go for a Mage.

Yeah if you want dots that do more than tickle people, inquisitor or assassin are the way to go. Its pretty ridiculous, mages have tons of dots but nothing comes close to the power of vex/SH.

As a tank I'd have to say stop this cleric talk. SH is the only thing that regualrly pulls aggro from me on the pull, and therefore I hate it lol

well... mages have the MOST dots, and the highest dps mage clases are completely based on applying dots and maintaining them without clipping. that said, its VERY inneffective in pvp because of cleanse, low burst potential and having a damage class that is overly complicated in comparison to many other damage build. Basically, its just not useful in pvp because they dont tick hard enough and can be cleansed or even ignored, while the other person can have killed the mage by the time the mage has applied dots and begun throwing fireballs or void bolts.

so yeah, cleric dots are really strong (inquisitor + caba is a lot of dots too), but rogues bleed effects and warriors bleeds plus magic dots are probably just as strong as even a mage's, though mages are stuck in the unfortunate position of relying on them for dealing significant damage.
