Coming back to Rift

I joined Rift quite some time ago, kept track of beta, read everything up to pre-release, which I was a part of. I'm a wow player, still holding true to content there.

Thing is, I truly loved the concept and story of this game, I was just never able to maintain the schedule and upkeep. However, now I am going to come back. I think the last time I really played was the 1.4 patch, and that in itself was very little.

I never managed to get my characters to max level, I believe my highest is a 36 Rogue, along with a warrior just under that.

How are things looking class-wise?
Last I recall, warriors were squishy and by far overrated.
I'm wanting a solid reason to maintain here, help me out!

Looking mainly for PvE or PvP?

Both really, I enjoy both.

At max level, that's what I want to do, I just need to get there.
I love pve gameplay and content, along with the stories that I've seen play out in the game.
However I'm just as interested to see the upper-level pvp, so I'm not one way or the other, I want both aspects.
