    Default Riftlogs replacement?

Been trying to find what people are using now but my googlefu is weak. What's the best sites for uploading your parses?

    Currently, there are none.
They went down when by one, until only riftlogs.com remained. And that went down a month or so ago.
Several fans are in talks with old parsing site owners for coding/website rights to try and re-open new servers, but frankly it always comes down to cost. With hundreds, even thousands of users uploading parses, you need a HEFTY server size which gets expensive.

Even though the past sites were open to donations, they often did not get enough in various months to cover the cost. In some cases, the owners simply had real life issues consume their time and keep them from keeping up to date.

So as of now, NO. We have to be patient till Trion offers to officially fund their own upload parsing servers (doubtful), or till another fanbased operation opens up who can hopefully stick with it for the long-run (more probable).

I've been working on a replacement and the reality of the matter is that either the tool will be a standalone that parses client side and only sends final dps stats to a leaderboard (basically people won't be able to view detailed breakdowns and such, they'd only see that I did 3k dps on sicaron and I'm in the top ten) or I charge guilds / users a monthly fee to cover the hosting. It's not a trivial cost by any means.

And because I HATE ads, I'd refuse to run ads of any sort really. Stubborn I know.

Sweet thanks for taking your time with this.

I hope in the future that the max limit will be changed as most hk logs is around 160-200mb

Hopefully that could be 120MB of PARSED data rather than the log itself if you know what I mean.

As was said on the website, trash is pointless even though I always win trash parses as Cab MUHAHAHA

Okay, I -lowered- the file size limit back to 60MB...But don't flip out yet.

I just got done programming the ability for you hardcore large file raiders to just zip up the combatlog.txt file, and upload it. The server will unzip it, take ONLY the combatlog.txt file from it, and then parse that.

I am testing with a 21MB text file zipped using -9 on my linux machines and its a large 2MB file.

You can use any program, just choose a normal .zip file and any compression level. Max is fine.

can i upload a zip of a log larger then 60MB as long as the zip itself is smaller then 60 MB?

Yes, the file size limit is based on the zip file itself. Not the contents once extracted.

    Nice site there Fel !

I have webhosting set up through bluehost.com with unlimited storage and bandwidth That I had planned on using for an online business but gave up on it.

I have been wanting to use it to do something like what you have set up but Don't have the knowledge my web developing skills only go as far as joomla and alittle of mysql databases .

Its just a shame the hosting is going to waste. I wouldnt be able to make the site and code it to pull the info from the log files i just don't know how.

I tihnk ACT has an option to export parses to mysql tho maybe I can do something with that. I dunno..

Anyways good work on the site if I knew how to set something like it up I would set one up for Our guild to use so my hosting wouldnt be wasted.

ACT does have a MySQL export, and I am planning on looking at this as another option soon.

Unlimited Storage and Bandwidth is sometimes too good to be true. With some projects that's great and works out for the best, sometimes, you need complete control of the server. I use dedicated and VPS servers to do most of the projects.

It requires knowledge of linux and some networking to setup and get running, but having access to any server software to do the job really helps. I suggest you look into a small VPS to play with if you want to learn.

Once I get a few things done with the site, I'm going to look into the ACT thing. At the moment I am working on a real-time parsing solution using NodeJS with a small client that parses the log and allows your guild/friends/whomever to watch your raids DPS/HPS/Incoming Damage and raid wide abilities from their browser.
