Default Spec to defend against sin?

My biggest problem doing pvp dailies has always been that one assassin that camps the area. I took a break for a few months, and back a few patches I found 51 lock was the easiest with all my defensive CD blown and just burst them down.

I was jumped while in my chloro/lock spec and the sin chased me literally around the pvp area of ember island. Even when I tried fear and that planar defensive CD while mounting to get away, the sin always caught up. Of course I planned on getting camped, so I switched to Dom/Chloro spec to burst them down. I admit to being terrible with Dom, but the CC and healing isn't enough burst.

Any suggestions? Should I try pyro/lock? If I try 51 lock again, any suggestions for other 15 points?

Chlorodom for burst? Are you serious? But the solution is chlorodom. NOT for burst but to out last them

If he out gears you your screwed anyways. Get some buddies. If your on gear parity/better than him, chloro/dom is definitely the way to go.

As an assassin myself, Anything with Stormshackle, heals and AoEs. Stormshakle will really screw them over. AoEs breaks stealth, heals will prevent them from doing much after the opener. And half of them are too stupid to make use of healing debuffs anyway.

Clean soul, shadow stalk will remove all CC and dot
Hidden veil make you immune to AOE stealth breaking.

The only thing good for dom against SIN is Deny and the fireball spam that come with squirrel.

Chloro/lock has some chance against them if and only if you dps is much higher than their self heal.
However most SIN hit you when you are on a mob and we all know how powerful EI mob hit.
so basically you are going to die unless some friends appear.

Chlorodom. The rogue forums actually have quite a few threads devoted solely to finding ways to kill Chlorodoms 1v1 consistently, and to date no spec can pull it off. Assassin is particularly weak to it, as well.

Otherwise I'd suggest rolling a warrior and going 32 Paladin for some godmode trolling of Assassins (but then Doms make you want to cry).

Or keep doing what you're doing, but roll with a buddy. Preferably a warrior, as they're best tuned for killing rogues at the moment. Pop guard on you, then unleash hell on the rogue.

Aren't you forgetting something? First, it's a rogue - if it could be a remotely fair fight (like no mobs hitting the target) he stays invisible. Then let's assume he thinks he can burn down the mage before the warrior can react - what he could probably do since the warrior will be distracted with more than one mob at this time - he will slip away if his health-bar reaches 50%, so no unleashing hell.

Now the fun part begins - more often than not the next graveyard is about a minute away, so slip away is half up again when the poor mage rezzes - another kill for the mighty skilled rogue.

Instead of a warrior I'd take a perma-stealth rogue with me and let him follow me to give the hero some leafs of his own book - he might slip away again, but he won't try it again :P

When I say Chlorodom for burst, I'm comparing it to a chloro/lock.

I've actually tried 51 dom 15 stormcaller, with some nice results. It's more of a hit and run in warfronts, but I haven't gotten a chance to try it with a sin in open world as it isn't useful for pve mobs. Stormcaller has a couple nice defensive spells and ride the wind is very valuable.

Something using Inquisitor would likely be the best spec. for dealing with sin. After all, extirpating sin, root and branch, is their purpose, no?

I reminisce to the days of questing on my ward/sent and killing most of the sins who tried to gank me. Waterjet spam ftw. Granted this was a while ago, it still brings fond memories to me.

    Default chloro/dom

works only if ur p6+ below its ur chances are way down.....
    anyway it goes like this.
u been poped from behind till u reach its like already impaled.
    1. break free
    2. deny
    3. transmogrify
    4. heal yourself
    5. split personality
    6. wild abandon+start runing in big circles.
7 .4 sec should have passed since prev transmogrify so u gonna use it again and also cast haunting pain
    8. immidiatly cast storm shackle
    9. use this macro while u runing in big circles
    10. heal yourself when needed.

    MACRO
    cast transference
    cast Traitorous Influence
    cast Mass Betrayal
    cast Thunder Blast
    cast nural prod

u can also add accelerated decay to it.

    9. till u done spamming the macros or the target is dead or he used pot+slip away

if he slipped i suggest using reflective comand on yourself and start jumping away or w/e DO NOT RUN ...
some suicidal pepz will use assasinate to "finish" the job. problem is they will die very hard.(if u know how to use reflective presence/command and to heal yourself)

    few notes
some sins hit freaking hard and they bleeds do like 600-800 a sec. so keep a pot for the initial burst other than that its mainly gg.
there are few hybrids that also have fell blades and they do dmg xept bleedz and can teleport .
the strategy is almost the same , xept before you heal yourself use deny to clear fell bladez and then u'll be able to outheal/last them.
be smart and don't get yourself slowed by them use wild abandon on cd.
i duel sins/nb'z hybrids and i win 70%+ of the time. and bad mms of also.
