Favor and prestige vials should be account-bound when...

When you reach rank 40, and these vials are worthless or less meaningful, they should be accout-bound. I've thought about this for a while. I would like for them to be account bound as soon as you create a character, but then people would be sending them from newly created characters.

Let's face it, the grind to get to rank 40 is super long, even with bonus weekends and even with vials. For those who want to have more than one rank 40, I see no harm in passing the vials to another character once they are no longer useful.


Alternately, you could just issue these vials to players when they reach level 50 and have them be account-bound immediately from level 50. I doubt many people would level a toon to 50 just to send the vials to another toon.

In any case, let us have some vial-sharing among characters. Please.

I disagree that they're useless upon maxing ranks. I still used up all of my Favor vials at rank 8 to get favor for every last thing needed. And the 15 or so Prestige vials left over enabled me to get shard first on my Rank 38->40, and the leftovers will do so again when the next set of ranks is released ^^

And the idea for releasing vials when your character hits 50 is really ironic. You made this entire rant about prestige and favor vials becoming useless @ highest PvP rank - how do you feel levelling players/alts will react when they can't speed up the leveling process with potions anymore? Using experience vials on PA is just as useless to some people as the others are to you.

And since that idea is dumb - we can't possibly be enabled to transfer vials, since I could just make 20 characters for unlimited vials on my main for PA grinding.

1) I have a 50, she is out of prestige/favor vials from my veteran rewards.
2) I roll a new toon and get them out of the starting zone so I can mail
3) I pick up all the veteran rewards on my new toon, including prestige/favor vials
4) Mail them to my 50

Repeat from step 1.

As for favor vials after reaching rank 40, that will vary between individual. I was rank 8 long enough so that I was hundreds of thousands of favor over the cap when 1.7 went live. I literally had to spend tons and tons of favor to even begin earning favor again. I have something like 15 prestige and favor vials on my main that are never going to be used.

Meanwhile, my cleric is now rank 32 and has been out of favor/prestige vials for months. My rogue has them literally wasting away. I see no reason that rank 40s shouldn't be able to give their vials to their other characters.

Not like they're never going to raise the Rank cap again. Stick em in the bank and you'll be happy you have them when they do.

So far, pvp rank been going up as pve gear tiers up. Wait til the next pve content and it wouldn't seem unreasonable to up pvp as well.

Just bank them as they'll be worth something when that happens.

The increase from rank 8 to rank 40 took less than 2 hours on a bonus weekend without running vials. I would gladly sacrifice the vials to my lower rank alt and risk it against future increases to rank up my alt now. Granted, I got lucky with a lot of wins that weekend. But it wasn't worth using vials for 1 rank.

What you are 1 in a million who does? leveling 50s for vials is not a viable idea so yes it is feasible.
