Cleric/Mage Questions.

Hello all. I'm trying out rift again (on a rig that actually runs the game) and I have to say I'm loving the game thus far.

A lot has changed since my last bit of brief time with the game. The whole thing with premade class/build choices at character creation are throwing me for a loop. Trying to figure out what class to play is even harder.

So here I turn to you all for some much needed advice. If I want a character that can be ranged dps/heals/support what's the best choice?

I guess I will have more of a PvE dungeons focus...maybe raiding (though highly doubtful) and a smidge of PvP.

So what class does the better job of bringing death from a distance with the option to be a suitable main healer?

Mage or Cleric?

Mage for better death from distance.

Cleric for better heals in general.
