The latest patch creates my 3 souls? I no longer get to choose like before :(

I don't know where to post this. The newest patch when creating a new character asks you what your purpose is...I want riftshalker, ranger, and assassin, but now you NO LONGER GET TO CHOOSE YOUR SOULS! I don't like this...! If I don't have the right to choose, what I think is best to play in this game, why should I continue playing this game? Since the newest patch even in PVP mode, if you had your pet in the beginning of the game, if you die and get reset, my pet has to be reset manually...which take's time away from the PVP group while in PVP. The only thing worth this newest patch is being able to see the clothing line before committing to a character, but it isn't enough if there are no choices...in souls. Let the gamer choose what souls they want...and mix and match as they choose, NOT THE GAME!

OK, I'll bite and assume for a second this isn't a troll...

REALLY IMPORTANT NOTE: The changes below are in addition to the existing Soul and Role system and do not replace the current way Soul specs work - they are intended to make it easier for old and new players alike to become familiar with different potential specs and gameplay they may not have tried before. Think of them like guidelines; those of you more familiar with the Souls and abilities you want to use can continue to customize and swap things in and out at will.

Yes you can still shoose your souls and point combinations. Trion just added a way for people not interested or capable of doing this to choose a good point combo and soul talents. Hope this helps. BTW do not listen to the leave the game people, stay a while and have fun.

Someone didn't read the patch notes. It's actually better. Pick your starting equipment you want, then when you start, and you have no points in, your souls are *ALL* available to you to pcik the ones you want and do it the way you want. As soon as you pick a talent not in the preset you happened to hit, it'll stop using the preset.

Some people really look hard to find things to whine about, I guess. If you're going to leave the game because you weren't smart enough to figure this out, then, well, don't let the door hit you...

How do I switch it off then ? I am coming back from a long time ago, but I wanted a combo which was not proposed. Still I have to go thru the starts using preset apparently... It would be nice if I could say "gimme the old *choose your soul* initial area)....

If you have 0 points in a soul, you can switch it out any time.... Just click it and select a new one.

On a side note, something I at least noticed on the guardian side. You used to be able to 'respec' your measly 6 - 9 points for free on Newb Island. I noticed now the trainer only offers training and no respecs. Would it be terrible to give those NPC's that function again? Minor but, even though I simply moved past the situation within 15 - 20m, I actually did want to try something and respec my points. /shrug'd and moved on but, would be nice
