Default So are warrior/mage/clerics just really good?

Buddy has a 48 cleric shaman. Macros all his abilities he would use to one button. Hits like a truck, I cannot kill him on my rogue for the life of me, being a 44 marksmen or nightblade.

Literally only hits 1 button and just crushes people. ( like i said its macro'd it has many skills, and goes off whats not on CD ). Are other callings op? Are rogues underpowered or does non of this matter at 50?

When I first dinged 50 on my cleric, I used shaman, and yes - you can literally do a 1 button macro. Out of the box, dps was decent. As I geared up a bit, I was able to be competitive in t2s. But once everyone was slowly gearing up via GSB/ROS, I was struggling to compete. Also, as a cleric gains more SP, it is better to move to different specs, - ranged dps inquisitor for example - to maximize potential.

Also, for pve, clerics can have it pretty nice with the ability to build roles with a decent amount of self heals with offense.

So I shouldn't be too concerned?
Also what are GBS or ROS?

He's a Shaman - a melee centric spec, and you couldn't kill him as MM?

I'm affraid you've yet to master your own class, which is likely why you feel the other three are "just really good".

Shaman is a decent 1v1 spec against melee opponents, but with superior range and much better mobility, there is no reason a MM should fear a Shaman.

I must be missing something then. Because as soon as he charges me and hits me it seems like half my health is gone.combo that with his movement reduction ability, im screwwd

yes you are missing something ... several things actually.

    1. You have a 35m range, his charge is 20m - use those 15 to your advantage.
    2. you have several Movement Speed Increasing abilities - use those to ensure #1
    3. You have "On the Double" which not only grants a temporary speed boost, but if talented (and it should be) allows you to remove that snare of his.
    4. Shamans are dependant on their buffs - you're a MM, L2Use Eradicate

If you couldn't use the 4 above to your advantage, then Rogue may not be the class for you.

that's akin to playing Assassin and not opening from stealth. You've neglected to use your greatest strength to your advantage ... you deserve to lose.

The fact this wasn't obvious to you, and instead you drew the conclusion that all other classes were somehow better speaks volumes.

44mm 22sin? Blinding powder until his path of the north (whatever that guaranteed crit talent is called) is worn off. Use OTD and escape. Rapid reload and do it again while you purge his buffs and run circles around him. You have literally so many ways to keep him at range or knock him back/pin that it's not funny.

Oh... level 44 - same thing applies, you just won't have the handful of options from your non-MM trees, nor would you need them.

First off bare with me, as I NEVEr played Marksmen before I started dueling my friend. also I get it now, I see how I can just run around, but that leaves a problem I haven't mastered yet, I still can't dish out the damage to kill him. Sure, I can pin him with static shot, purge him, put barbed shot on, but you know what happens? I get waterjet'd till I'm dead. I run and turn and shoot and I die to waterjet. thjis COULD be the fact that my gear is awful ( i just came back to playing a few days ago from a 8 month break ) and he is 5 levels higher than me. I wouldn't say I am a bad pvper at all, to be honest, I just seem to have issues, and i'm starting to think now that I cleared things up, its not a pvp issue its perhaps gear and lack of level.

    You will lose
    1) awful gear
    2) 5 levels below him
    3) waterjet has 30m range, you have 35m. This ability just forces you to be more aware of your range dance.
    4) biggest problems are 1 and 2

MM DOMINATE melee builds that have to rely heavily on self buffs. Good MM won't even let that melee touch them more than once. Excellent MM won't let that melee touch them at all (these are VERY few).

Get gear, get levels. Until then, advice on how to play or what to do when facing ABC really can't help 1v1.
But at least we can get married now!
    I'll be fishing in Codex...

Somebodi - 19 Rogue Guardian Deepwood (twink wannabe)

underlined is key - you also don't know how to strafe kite. Until you learn that, you have no business playing MM.

It may not be nice to hear, but you ARE a bad pvper. Maybe not in other games, but clearly you aren't comfortable enough with your class, don't understand how to properly move and attack at the same time, and clearly don't yet understand your opponent's class.

Gear and Level certainly make a difference, but I'm afraid you must look at your skill as a player, and lack of knowledge of the game as the key contributors to your downfall presently.

Strafe kite as in strake and shoot? Sure. I can do that then. And as far as a spec goes?

You guys really need to relax and learn to read. Your dealing with a brand new player here. Notice the lack of recognition of GSB and RoS?
