Thread: History of Telara – Lore Q&A Last edited by Lutinz; 08-19-2012 at 11:06 AM.
I have the idea that they were actually 'normal' (more or less..) dragons (NON-elemental) and from somewhere else, but certain aspects of the planes corrupted each of them.
(note that my use of 'dragon' is loose. We know that the dragon bodies are their physical manifestation, but what if the dragons ARE really dragons, but are being hosts to the more corruptive planar power? Like, possession.)
So there is a clear way for Trion to introduce a 'big bad' that is much much worse than even Regulos.

As far as I know, the dragons are not from a specific plane - the planes themselves are neutral - but each dragon chose to conquer and claim a plane (to bolster their own power, I presume)
The book "For Maelforge" certainly hints that Maelforge wasn't always there and they weren't always his slaves.

Well that is interesting. It nearly confirms that we could have 'peaceful' locations on the Planes, based on the good peoples of them (as opposed to the invaders we fight through the rifts): fae, dragonians, ogres (perhaps from our own plane, but then corrupted and moved to Plane of Earth), and more.

Have you read about Storm legion yet?
Crucia the dragon of air and conqueror is FEARED by Regulos the "almighty" destroyer for her strength is bounden his and her army is more powerful than Regulos's army could ever hope to be.
MAYBE with ascended of his own just maybe he could match her power or beat her but they would have to be either ascended he managed to corrupt or deceive OR made using foul planar magic resulting in a twisted version of the ascended.
Hell, even with the other 4 backing him it would be unlikely for him to beat her unless one of them or all of them had ascended.
I am currently working on a idea for this, though it will be very long winded though there will be no detail left out and that is all I can tell you at this point until I submit it here on the forums.
I am the ascended with no side, one that has walked both and will choose neither.

I actually had the feeling that this whole Telara situation is a massive plan by Crucia.
But that in the middle of it, is Regulos taking advantage of it. River of Souls was a diversion and just part of the timeline he wanted to set.
He's still the big bad, but Crucia is the mastermind we have to face first.
Or.. something like that![]()

Pt. 2
This doesn't discount:
-the outright strength of Maelforge
-the corruptive (to sentient peoples) power of Laethys
-the possible LONG LONG LONG term plan of Akylios. Even him being dead may not mean his end: see Water Saga
Greenscale can go sit in a corner like he already did.

ive always thought that peaceful places in the planes existed, mainly because of the Shalastiri
i see the planes as just another planet basically, there are cities and different creatures and different viewpoints, it just so happens that each has it's own dictator.
Telara is a world just like the other planes (as far as i see it, again), its just that where the other planes are touched only by themselves, Telara is touched by all 6 planes, so it isnt entirely made of brimstone and lava, or water and ice, or overtaken by jungle, but it is all of these things, all at once

They are indeed strong but remember, Crucia has been gathering only the best from every world The Blood has destroyed since the beginning, heck she was the one who conquered each world so they could do there thing.

Who are the Shalastiri?
Correct, she was the first to enter Telara and from what I could gather from our limited info she was the whole reason Telara fell in the first place however, strangely she was the one who allowed us to save ourselves.
Other than that I can't give you even speculation.

I remember in the Storm Legion lore, it said that some of the Brevane natives made it to Mathosia. Since the game started, I always wondered why there were random gray people here and there.
Are these the Brevane natives? (Brevanians?, Brevanese?)
right, the Shalastiri came into Telara, following their prince, Bahmi, to help the Telarans fight off the blood storm, they helped us place the ward, which sealed their fate, leaving them stranded on Telara. after a while they bred with the natives and formed the race we now know as the Bahmi

@ Maeloda:
"expand this concept to the factions themselves, as we already know Asha+Cyril have worked together several times now since launch!"
I hate to pester you about this, but do you have a linkie to something describing this? Maybe a forum thread if nothing else? I can also maybe add this as an official question for the thread: when have Asha and Cyril worked together and why?![]()

I think the extent that Asha and Cyril have "worked together" is that they've mutually agreed to not slip daggers into each others' backs (for all the good it would do either of them).
I remember them chasing Alsbeth into the River Of Souls, for one. That wasn't so much cooperation as it was a ceasefire.
