Does the Troll race come from the plane of Earth, or Life?
Does the Troll race come from the plane of Earth, or Life?
this kind of confuses me. Because the lore suggest that they exist in the planes of Life, but we mostly see this race linked to the Earth planes.
so which plane does this race originate from? can it be both planes?

I mean, look at one of the two raid bosses for the daily in this event, for starters.
As for the question, OP.
The huge fat trolls and troglodites are linked a lot with the plane of earth, as are ogres, but the lore says the ogres came from another world, were taken by Laethys as her servants.
However I think the other troll types are linked to the plane of life, SR type trolls (trollbight caverns, the large elite troll in the south of SR, the tusked trolls that are in the cinematic and appeared in the dragon mote world event quest.

It's obvious where they come from. The plane of the forums.
if from the Plane of Life, some then may have changed their allegiance. From a quest in Stonefield it is said that Trolls served the Titans eons ago, and from the lore, the Titans had created an empire on the Plane of Earth.

Fantasy has forever had different types of trolls. Mountain, Forest, Wood, Hill, Jungle...... etc etc.
Rift is no different.
well with the story of laethys about the ogres, there could have been a world of trolls and when th the bloodstorm invaded laethys and greenscale each took a faction to their plane and they evolved to what we see now
So that means it is possible that the planes connect some play that isn't Telara?

It says in the lore that Telara sits in the place where all the planes touch....this insinuates that there are numerous other places where only a few of the planes touch, as has been discussed in another thread.
Just take a 6 circle Venn and add a 7th centered and you have the basic principle.

In Alsbeth's video reference is made of having to travel through the plane of Death in order to get to the Plane of Life, so I think some planes are connected this way and some, like the plane of the Orges, are not.
