I'm just worried that, if I recall, they said Storm Legion questing will move away from the traditional exclamation-mark quests to Instant Adventure-style questing. As a lore junkie, even though the story told through quest text isn't too substantial, at least there's some semblance of motivation to what you're doing. In IA's, you're literally just running around completing objectives with no real story reason behind it. Sure, most people don't even read quest text, but as a lore junkie, it'd just suck if questing in SL to get to 60 was just completing objectives with no story.

    This.

Trion, even Guild Wars 2, with all its 'OMG DYNAMIC EVENTS EVERYWHERE TELLING THE STORY OF THE WORLD!' stuff has:
1)Personal story, that is solo and contains all of the stuff of traditional questing and more
2)NPCs that say things, and even allow you to vary your responses, changing your personality

They didn't just throw out questing that many people likely still enjoyed - they just shifted emphasis. I wouldn't mind if that happens in Rift, because I for example enjoyed questing in Ember Isle a lot more than in most of the Lv 1-50 zones (most, not all).

Questing in Ember Isle was definitely among the most fun... Stillmoor had it's shining parts, once you got past the sheer "kill 10 skeletons" quests.

I wouldn't mind seeing Instant Adventures tied to specific lengths of Quest Lines. Take for example the Guardian quests in Ember Isle where they are discovering what the Farclan are doing with Pyrkari souls -- that would be a unique set of Instant Adventures scattered about, with a light story progression. Things like that.

    Yeah, that's just it .

In Storm Legion, I'm hoping for the main questline(s) to be lengthy, but not scattered everywhere.

Leave the scattered and relatively pointless 'Kill 10 Skeletons' quests to misc. scattered '!' quests and Instant Adventure.

Save the lore, in-game cutscenes (PLEASE BE IN THERE), and awesome new locations and characters for the real 'questing'.
