Beachcombing?

I'm trying to do the seasonal beachcombing quest and I can't find a single thing. I'm running along the shore of Dunes of Akala. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Anyone got any help as to what I'm looking for or if I'm in the wrong area or if I'm just doing it wrong in general?

I find a bunch on the beaches northwest of Fortunes Shore, just hit the power and if one's nearby it'll jolt your camera to face toward it, just run forward till it appears.

Make sure to wait a bit if your camera does move, as treasure piles tend to take time to actually pop up. If you understand the mechanics of the reactive ability then you should get all 5 within a few minutes.

Go exactly to those X's on the map to search for treasure (one treasure per X, so you have to visit at least 5, though they might have already been taken when you get there so you'll need to go to another one). I managed to complete it in under 30 minutes thanks to using this map.

If you want to really slack and "find" treasure piles with a nice, big arrow at your feet pointing to them.....

Keep Ctrl held down and just ride around spamming the 'Tab' key, the piles will show up on mini-map and also will be targeted by you, all without even having to use the beachcombing item

Sadly this is what a lot of people want these days. Any quest that is somewhat harder or boring in their eyes needs nerfing/fixing. Which is why now you only need to find 5 and there are more spawn points..... makes me wonder why to do quests at all.

Holding down 'Ctrl' and cycling through with 'Tab' key targets all friendly mobs/pets in range...apparently the treasure piles count, don't even have to use the quest AoE beachcomb

Once you target one, it appears on the minimap and you can see it targeted like any mob you tab-target, simply head to mark, pile spawns...loot

Yeah you don't need to AoE to find them at all, if you run into them they show up regardless. All the AoE does is jerk your camera to face it if theres one in range.
