Default Twisted artifact in a nest in a tree in Gloamwood - possible or not ?

    Hi,

I've been trying to get to a twisted artifact sitting in a nest on a branch of a big tree in Gloamwood. I can sort of see there might be a way up but it looks like a bit of a stretch and I've already wasted way to many hours on it already - I'm just interested if it's actually possible and if so how?

    Thanks
    Adam

Use a mount, angelic flight, and any kind of other leaps or warps you have to try to get to something else that will let you jump/drop down to it.

Angelic Flight, and all other, non enemy related ports, tend not to work when it comes to changes in altitude. Even though I can get a green cursor on the opposite bank of the river by the fishing spot in Argent Glade, it wont let me "fly" over the gap.

you have to run up an incline first, I've used angelic flight to scale hills and cliffs that didn't have walkable terrain, and also to go across gaps

Im sure there are one or two artifacts in places that are imposible to get to just to see how long we keep trying.

the question is which two are they ;)

they don't have fixed spawn locations, it's all RNG. That said, some locations do have better odds for being blue than others, but that's all.

There are fixed locations where artifacts can spawn and all of them are reachable.
The random part is that they aren't always there.
I know the dev in charge of artifacts came onto forums several months ago and said he had personally tested every spawn location to ensure it was possible to reach.

Spawn locations are assigned, the random part is when they spawn, not where. There are dozens of locations I check whenever I pass by and the artifacts spawn in these locations in the exact same spots. Some are hard to reach, but if the spawn location were any random spot they wouldn't always spawn at the base of that tree or next to that rock, etc.

try to climb the tree, I have found several twisted artifacts in areas that you have to climb, jump, climb etc.

not sure how you managed to misinterpret my post again, in a different thread. I didn't say the spawn locations were random, I said which artifact spawning where is random and not fixed. You really need to read posts carefully before you respond to them.

Nope, you clearly said spawn locations are not fixed, which is wrong, as pointed out by two responses. You responded to a post saying that some spawn locations are inaccessable by saying that spawn locations are not fixed. I suggest you think things through a little more before hitting the post button.

I've spent an infuriating period of time trying to get to an artifact in Gloamwood which was perched right on the tip of a branch of a semi-fallen tree. Angelic Flight was a great help here though from my experience you cannot jump across gaps, you can use it to scale a large proportion of sharp inclines. Nevertheless I stupidly convinced myself that this particular artifact had to be a blue considering how hard it was to reach. My elation upon reaching it was quickly cut short when it turned out to be one of the most common whites in the zone.

My advice; don't spend to long trying to reach the one artifact. Keep hunting and find easier targets!

It's in our nature to look for patterns, but unless someone posts an official notice otherwise, there is absolutely no evidence that any particular spawn point is more likely to have a rare artifact than another. Go for the hard-to-reach artifacts if you enjoy the challenge, but you're not likely to get a "reward" for the effort beyond the normal chance to get a good pick.

I mostly stick to easy spawns, and I've picked up my share of rares just laying on the ground. IIRC one new toon got three Rusted Shovels in a day or two, two of them were consecutive picks. They sold for like 10 plat each on the AH, but that doesn't mean that there's anything special about the spawn points they came from. The RNG gods just gave me a break that week.

To fly across gaps, jump and time your angelic flight for the top of your jump. The hardest part is compensating the flight cursor animation with the jumping... aim low before you jump.
