Shimmersand - I Hope You Like Surprises

Hi,

I'm trying to do this quest (I hope you like surprises) in Shimmerand and I can see the chest in the cave but there's a whopping big elite that I can't even put a dent in as a tank. I don't think he used to be there before, and the quest isn't listed as a group quest. Can anyone shed any light on this? Is there a way to get the chest without killing the elite or am I supposed to find a group of people to do this solo quest?

That elite was in the cave for one of the world event group quests and I would guess he is not meant to be there still. It will take a few level 50's to kill him or maybe try putting in a ticket in game and a gm should be able to help you out.

it's probably not funny to you but it is a bit funny considering the name of the quest.

You could send in a tank to take the heat while you loot the chest. Preferably you can heal the tank while they attempt to flee...

I tried soloing that BA on my tank and got demolished, but at least a little slower than on the healer.

If you can't find a group or a tank to help here are a couple of suggestions:

If you are a rougue try using stealth to get past him, open the chest then run away. This might not work as elites have I higher chance of detecting you.

You could trying using; necromancer, ranger, beastmaster or druid to summon a tanking pet or some sort of distraction while you get the chest.

The mage pets all get demolished by him.

It might be worth a try to kite him to the defiant headquarters, which is close by.
