I usually pull about 8-10FPS on Orchin, I don't think I've died yet unless I get incredibly unlucky in their placement . . . even then there is usually a spot you can stand. I still thing this is a complete learn to move issue.
Though my new machine is in boxes on the way to my house, so hopefully FPS won't be a problem for me soon soon . . . 20+FPS on Orchin would make me very happy.
Also, keep in mind "Looking For Raid" supporters... the people that want Orchin nerfed because there is a slight chance you might die if you stand on piles that give you plenty of time to get out are the people that will be queued in your LFR tool destroying any resemblance of fun as you wipe on simple bosses over and over and over.
Dodging piles and having a healer in your group also helps.
Quit. {All exploits are equal, but some are more equal than others}
"Well, perhaps your feelings may be different," said Alice; "all I know is, it would feel very queer to me."
"You!" said the Caterpillar contemptuously. "Who are you?"
Interestingly enough, Ochrin is my favorite invasion boss (although the invasion itself is a bit drawn out, which makes it one of my least favorite invasions). Yes, I know that the problem is video and/or network lag, and it really shouldn't be that way in a perfect world. But it is what it is, and that's what makes this invasion a bit of a challenge.
Ochrin isn't fun, nor is he challenging. You spend more time running away from him since gold piles are going to spawn underneath him every single time than you do actually attacking him. That isn't fun. Or I can swap to bard, pop holy champion, ignore the piles, and heal people like crazy so they too can ignore the mechanics.
Yes what a wonderful fight.
Greybriar Guardian Bard
Gear and power items in the cash shop was my dealbreaker. It was a fun 2 years.
That's weird i just turn WotM on works for me /shrug
Calm As A Bomb
I run on a really old rig, and if it's anything but the dead of night, there's nothing I can do to save myself on Ochrin. During the day time, on my medium pop server, I get like 4-6 fps on event bosses, so I can't even see the piles before I start getting hit usually.
The biggest issue, to me, is the lack of an option to turn player spell graphics off. You can turn spell hit graphics off, but that doesn't stop me seeing the fireball flying through the air, just the flames on the boss when it lands. I can turn down the max number of spell effects the game will render at a time, which I have, but then I run into another issue. If I lower it to much, then important mob mechanics won't show, and if I leave it to high, then I can't dodge those mechanics due to extremely low fps.
There's also the issue that anti-planar/fury doesn't work on the gold piles. It works on the boss (I've ended up dps tanking him with it at the dead hours of the night) but it doesn't work on the piles. Unless you're telling me with 75% damage reduction they're supposed to hit me for 3k+, while the boss only hits me for 500?

I'm really proud of you guys who don't want this fight to be changed. I am extremely impressed by your ability to turn down your graphics settings, and walk out of AoEs.
You people who don't like dying due to game performance problems should be ashamed!
I like how dangerous EI can be. 10fps is awesome... i usually get 4-6.
I agree that bosses need to be tougher... but AFTER the performance problems are fixed.
I'm so BORED
a typical orchin kill on my warrior goes something like this.. run in, attack once or twice...then run out! run run run...run run run..runrunrun..ok, piles gone, run back in! attack once or twice..gold piles run out again!
is that supposed to be challenging? sure i'd like difficult boss fights..but ones where i spend 75+% of my time running in\out isn't hard..it's annoying.
i'd rather see pile size drastically nerfed, and the ability used more often (so that players could actually dodge them in a way that they can continue dps\tanking\healing)
Transfer to a PvP shard.
Manually solve your over-crowded boss problem, one enemy player at a time.
