Whitefall: Last Second Denial

To get a kill on a player within 20m of their stone while the stone is in their base.

After 10 hours of trying I finally, finally get a kill for the achieve... nope DENIED, no credit given. So after smashing my keyboard to bits, I put in a ticket only to be DENIED yet again saying "cannot verify".

12 hours in I get ANOTHER kill and woohoo yep you know it DENIED again, no credit awarded. I then send in another petition giving the name of the player I killed and name of another player on their team who saw me do it and STILL DENIED saying "cannot verify".

Seriously, this is absolutely beyond rediculous! Whitefall achievements are 10 times harder than any other warfronts and then when you should get them nothing is awarded. I am over 9100 achievement points and this is the one achieve that has been blocking me from the "Lord of War" title. I just want to get it over with already!

Did you get the killing blow? Only reason I can think that it didn't register besides range issues which are weird sometimes.

I just resubbed after a month break and got this achievement after trying for it since march last year or so. It works but I agree with you Whitefall Achievements are tough as hell, much better than the generic Library achievements they gave us. Use teleporter 200 times, hold fang 100 times bleh!

I cans say thet there is probably nothing wrong with achiev. I got it yesterday. So you probably just didnt score a killing blow like Henry says.

We decide to go for this achievement, 5 of our guild members.. all rogues.. we did it so many times and thought it was bugged. But the fact is that the range you need to drop their carrier at is just sick, it's basically next to their flag.

Luckily 5 rogues opening up with all kinds of stun and dpsburst, any carrier go down fast.

It's not bugged, just really really hard to get.

I definitely got the KB for both of them were solo kills. One was just past the steps going to the crystal and the other had the guy practically fall over on the crystal.

What I think may have been the issue is that both times the player was a mercenary which may be causing it to not award credit.

Its basically an impossible achievement for the vast majority of people. I gave up as a cleric trying to get several of the whitefall achievements.

To be honest the achievements for warfronts are pathetic anyway since they force players to play a specific way to get them (aka cleric cant heal), and also sometimes require killing power that you cant always have in certain specs or require setups that some classes dont have... pigeonholing you into particular builds just to get a certain achieve.

I would love to hear how any clerics have gotten the last second denial achieve without it being pure luck and maybe finding the guy all alone in a burst inquis spec or something (lol unlikely), because i just dont see how we have the 1 on 1 burst and CC abilities to be able to do it, especially without outside interference.

Oh I definitely agree... hell I was getting players threatening to report me because I wasn't participating in the warfront as much as they would like. I was literally having to wait in the base for a chance at the achieve and after all that all I got was a dev saying the can't verify. I have over 9100 achieve points and this one is blocking me from finishign my Lord of War, just grant me the stupid thing I have earned it!

you guys, I totally agree, please look at my post I started about these achieves.. I too am like around 9300 achieves and I cannot get that one nor the 5 flag carrier kills.. Please go read it and continue to post their so maybe Trion will look at some of the good ideas posted in there..

I got it about two months ago as a cleric. Somehow a lower rank rogue was running it in with his team behind him, and I was up on the ledge. I dropped down, forced a crit sanction heretic, bolt of depravity proc and then just nysyred him in place. His team killed me and turned in the flag afterwards, but that's how I got Last Second Denial. I was running 51inq, 10sent, 5warden.

Hardest thing is getting the timing right (when to be in their base), and you currently need a 'fresh stone runner' - ie, if someone has killed the original guy who picked up the stone, and a second person got the stone before it was recovered, you cant get last second denial from killing the 2nd guy.

I got this achievement as a full healer using a soul remnent. It kinda came by luck without trying. The only one I had to really focus on was the 5 carrier kill- this is hard or was hard as a pre buff cleric.

I know these achievements are hard, I had someone rage and ingnore me the other day over this because they thought i robed them by picking up the stone. But I like haveing achievements that not everyone can get by grinding or by random luck. They are something you actually have to achieve.

Sooo... how many months before this is going to get fixed... especially with the possible upcoming changes to pvp the whitefall achieves will be even more ridiculous to obtain in comparison with all the other warfronts.

The achievement works. Any of these kill achievements require the original carrier to pick it up. If at all it drops or they die in between, no kill credits etc. will count.

This one also requires that their stone not be picked up at any point after the initial carrier picks up the stone.
The Achievement kill range is also wrong stating 20m but it is more like 3-5m.
