It has 3 primary "legs".

It starts with doing all of the quests in Scarwood that involve Marshal Kain at Kain's Command.

I don't know if it's required but one of the last quests in Moonshade has a boss where right nearby, is a "!" with remnants of aedrexis that prompts you to deliver them to Marshal Kain in Iron Pine Peak. That typically will send you on the IPP leg. It also might be startable by talking to the guard to the east of Whitefall. When you're done with the IPP quests, you'll be sent to Stillmoor. Shortly after you'll get a mail with an item that opens a portal with a guy who gives you the quest and when you talk to him again, he let's you pick the essence.

When in Thalin Tor in Stillmoor, it should take you through a series that takes place in the graveyard and village to the immediate North. The end of those quests has a live "cut scene" involving Marshal Kain, and after that one of the NPC's will send you to Sanctum. Then you'll get a mail with a trinket 3 charges that port you to Sanctum and the Sir/Dame title.

I believe i just finished the IPP leg, after destroying the crystal at the chancel forge kain was rather upset with me. Few quests later it sent me to sanctum to talk to Kalmar. After i completed that quest it was the end of that chain, am i going to get the mail? or is there another chain i missed somewhere
