Default Some Quests are completing themselves?

This is the third time this week this has happened. I am leveling a Guardian and I will accept a quest, then a few seconds later it says its complete. It just happened with a Quest in Whitefall called wife tracker, where you discover the fate of the wives out in the woods. It happened to me also in Droughtlands on two separate quests which i dont recall because I wasn't paying much attention and had a ton of quests active. Anyone else notice this?

The Wife Tracker quest did the same thing to me. I ended up completing it twenty feet from the NPC with no bodies in-sight. I didn't find the bodies until like an hour later while doing another quest.

If I remember right, the wife tracker quest is completed by a trigger of standing in a certain area. Possible you walked through that area without realizing it. There's other quests with location triggers too.

No, it completes very close to the NPC. You're still in town. While the bodies are across the river and a minute or two down the road by the logging constructs.

I dunno then, mine updated at the bodies so I can't say for sure but it sounds like a bug in that case.

It seems all of these quests that require you to investigate location X have lost the ability to measure proximity to X. There was a blurb in one of the patch notes. I think the current fix is to just auto-complete the quest requirement. for example, in Freemarch there's a quest requirement to investigate the Lakeside Docks. As soon as you move it completes.

Anyway, it's better to do a bug report in-game on these things. Most of us are just guessing here.
Probably the most difficult aspect of living in a free society is letting other people enjoy their freedom, their way.

Yea you are right. They are quests where you investigate areas. I did report it. For the wife tracker I did not even get down to the bottom of the ramp that the quest giver was on before it said completed
