Worthwhile quests

I've played this game since release, and I haven't found "worthwhile" quests to go out of my way to complete. It seems as their only purpose is to level.

Are there any quests/quest lines in-game that have a purpose? (epic gear,attunement,titles,etc) If so, please direct me to a resource that I can search for them. I enjoy putting the effort into questing where the effort has some reward besides making levels.

That was one strength Everquest had, in that the worthwhile quests took effort to accomplish and their rewards was worth the effort.

WoWarcraft started out that way from the beginning, but turned into the monstrosity it is today.

The level 20 quest that says "epic quest, story" in your journal is a good one to start with. Goes all the way to Greenscale raid where you get an epic weapon. The Saga of the Endless is the Defiant one.

Do the epic questlines that start in your home city. At 50 you'll be happy with the reward. Also at 50 is the "Herald of Mar" (I think thats what it's called - Stillmoor quest) that gives you T1 equivelant legs.
