    Default LUA for Addons, Confirmed!

Type /script on the PTS client, you get an error relating to LUA.

    Start brushing up!

Previous Founder of RiftLift, it was a great idea, but it just never took.

You want to make a directory in Rift\Interface\Addons\<Somename> and make a RiftAddon.toc file. Haven't gotten anything to show in the UI yet, no idea what the syntax is.

Also it's LuaJIT, holy hell at doing it right. Better hope they disabled FFI.

I doubt it's been implemented. Given the way Elrars post in here was worded, it sounds like the addon button was a mistake that slipped through.

Not if they know what format will be used. That's not "slipped through" that has to be offered and implimented from the devs. It's hardcoded now.

For arguments sake, I actually tried this by dropping in a simple WoW addon, no dice, expected nothing though.

If it is even enabled on the PTS client, there's going to be a specific file layout for the ID file I doubt we could guess at.

Yeah, I'm not sure of the layout. All I know is that it is reading the file according to Process Monitor. I've tried all of the file layouts I can think of. Fields seem to be "Addon", "Author", "Dependencies" and "Description" (judging by strings changed since live; in no way a good indication of anything). There's a nice "addon.lua" reference in there too.

I'm quite sure that embedding Lua wasn't an accident though. That's a good thing.

I think the point is... I don't think they intended that button to show up on PTS this soon.

Obviously, they've been working on this for quite a while internally.
You can play WoW in any MMO. You don't have to play WoW in RIFT. Oh, and no, RIFT is not a WoW clone. Not having fun any more? Learn to play, noob! I don't speak for Riftui, but I moderate stuff there. Got ideas for improving the RIFT community? Feel free to PM me. Just came back? Welcome back! Here's what's changed. (NOTE NEW URL)

If they dragged it on further, this ship will be leaking even worse.

To get those WoW players Trion needs the UI to be similiar to make the transition smoother. If they continue to wait, that's less people wanting to even try the game.

Really miss Vuhdo. Logged into WoW to shoot more video, and there it was all tweaked and ready.
