Popped into the channel last night after purchasing the game (turns out you can't level past 15 playing the trial). A little quiet around midnight PST, as I'd expect, but still peeps on and chatting. Seems like a cool group of people, and it was nice to have some chatter that wasn't 1-9 spam.
I wish I had taken note of the person's name, but the most notable line was from someone offering to do outfitter work for anyone in need (tips appreciated), bravothis kind of attitude makes a game/server evironment so much more friendly and enjoyable. Looks like you guys have your heads on straight, and this will be a great guild to watch.
Anyhow, just wanted to say "hi" here first before spouting off in game. Look forward to meeting some of you, and hopfully when the wife and I get leveled up, we can group up.

Welcome to the game, we hope you enjoy it here. The channel is sporadic, we do try to converse in the channel.

So far we've really enjoyed it; last night was awesome, 13 active rifts plus footholds in the immediate area, we had 4 groups raided running around killing everything that flooded in. What a blast, it reminded me of raiding in EQ2 back in the day; I'm sold, this game rocks! I can't wait to see what's to come as we level up.
I am glad you are enjoying the game, I and my wife also are having a blast. Look forward to talking to ya more in game. I was sidetrack working on a T2 dungeon last night and our Biweekly guild meeting.

HaHa no worries, I didn't expect the welcome I got much less idle banter! I've done the raid guild officer thing before, it's much like herding cats at times, and you rarely have time for yourself much less time to chat with a newb that's just joined your channel.
Last night was cool, did some rifting, questing, mining and Crafting, even got to group with a The Watch alt (I'm assuming) Kitiara(sp?) for a quick invasion kill.
How was the Dungeon?
LOL good point on raid leading. Its not that bad in the watch but we are just getting started ... we are gearing people for T1 and T2 content now, moving into 10 man raid rifts and gilded sanctum next week.
We did Expert Abyssmal Precipice First boss wiped 4 times due to mob placement, but then flew to the added boss, well i died along the way keeping my Ranger tradition from Everquest 1 ... then one shotted last 3 bosses. Not bad for only running the dungeon once on regular lol.
If it was a little more evil (not as forgiving) i would have bought the farm a lot more especially on the last boss ... felt my heart beat a coupld of times but it was a great challenge.
Things are moving in a very positive direction in Rift for us, the nerf does help us but the 4 plus hours in expert T2 is for the birds ... so sadly i am one supporting the nerfs to expert dungeons.

Well, when you first start out you almost have to...errr let's say "ballance" the dungeons to a point where they're difficult but doable for the top tier guild(s) on the on the server. If no one can complete them what's the point, you're just pissing off the playerbase. No one likes to kill trash mobs for hours just to get to the boss(es) & get one shotted. Then, once the strategies get out and epic gear gets to be more commonplace, tweak it a bit to keep it fun & challenging.
Anyhow, I'm glad to hear things are moving in the right direction for TW, and that there arre lots of challenges ahead at that level!
Take care, & see ya in game.
ETA: I will say though, for morale it's almost good to fail out a couple times, learn the bosses, and the strategy to win, then go in fresh and just kill it. That win is sooo much sweeter after having invested those hours up front, next time around, you'll have more volunteers than you know what to do with!

Hi Datro!! I'm so glad you guys are enjoying things! If you ever need someone to help in dungeons or with quests please just yell. We have a lot of alts of various levels so I'm sure we have some people that will need to run them with you. That and it's nice to get to know more people.
I'm Art's wife btw. It's fabulous to know that another wife is playing! We're pretty lucky in the gal department, we have, I think 8 women now in our guild!! That's a lot more than usual but we love it! Well.. I'm sure the guys get more harassment with their wives playing but it's better than wife aggro for sure!!
Hope to see you around more!!
Thanks Nikayla, a little harassment never hurt anyone, and it keeps things interesting. This isn't the first MMO Tarynn has played with me, so I'm used to it, haven't had wife aggro in quite a while. She'll be on this evening, most likely questing/leveling I may hop on for a few, but the guys want to play poker (Bro aggro?) tonight, so she's on her own. I think this time around we're going to play more laid back, less all-night-every-night, and enjoy some RL...for now anyway.
I'll have Tarynn join thewatch channel in case she can use a hand or wants someone to talk to, she's pretty quiet(only in game), so I doubt she'll ask for help, but thanks for mentioning that as a possibility.
