Full server
I want to ask. On peak times I have to queue for 10-15 mins until I log in to play.
On one hand I like playing on a game where the server runs smooth without lag or chance to crash but is there a way to make it bigger so more people can join and still runs smooth? Because waiting to play a game you are paying is quite bad
You can play any server you like, Trion provide multiple servers so they are not preventing you from playing the game at all. However yeah the queue is back pretty much just because of a surge of interest in 1.2 and mainly the removal of a strict AFK timer so people are just idling for much longer.
I'll quieten down again soon.

Yeah, it is damn annoying the q's are back. Sitting in it now, 30 minute wait....oh joy. I know it will calm down and it is due to the free trials and the 1.2 patch but surely this would be predictable. The cap should have been made a soft cap rather than just stopping people or.....stopped the trial accounts going on the server with the highest pop. Afterall, I'm currently paying to play the game (currently paying to look at a waiting screen) when they are just testing the game. If the trial offers the chance to turn their account into full accounts they will want to keep on the server they tested on, i.e more perma accounts on the server. More q's.
Rant over, it does need looking at Trion. Either increase the cap or allow server xfers.
its not just the trial accounts.
I went to the bathroom today, t hen went to the stores. got a beer. had a chat with a mate. went to watch football. came back an hour late. moved my character. no notice of `you are no longer marked for beign afk`, seems like you can afk all you want now without getting logged off.
it was marked in the patch notes. but instead of it being like 5 minutes, its upto hours now....
i am writing this while in Q .. :P it 46min for me when it started with 350 in Q
from 2 weeks ago i started playing the game tell now .. i didn't get in Q a lot. like 2 times only and they were short Qs also.
Oh my god. People complain about empty servers, now you complain about full servers.
Are you sooooo damn addicted and don't have a real life so you cant do anything else while being in the queue than watching the screen?

Actually mate I have a life. I have 2 kids and a wife (anyone in the simlair situation will know where I am coming from in the next few sentances) so I can only play certain times of day i.e. once both kids are in bed. This gives me limited playing time inbetween work, spending time with my kids and spending time with my wife. My complaint isn't that the server is full, I enjoy PvP. A full server means plenty of targets. My complaint is not being able to log onto the server because someone at Trion can't do maths and has overlooked a simple thing.Originally Posted by Nalani
Put it in another context, you own a shop which sells one item that everyone comes to you for. A new advertising campaign has just run for your shop, you know that next weekend is going to be busy. You know it will draw in plenty of NEW customers so you stock more of said item. It's standard business practise, it's called projection/forecasting.
If it is the AFK timers then TRIONs test team need a slap. So far it looks like everything is only being developer tested not sent to a Q&A team if you look at the LFG tool and now the AFK timers.
I understand but since we all know there may be a queue of 30 minutes, and i know "oh, today I can only play from 8-9pm", then I turn on my computer at 7pm and log in already. ;)
Thats exactly what I'll be doing tonight. With the silly AFK times back it doesn't matter if I get to the front of the q earlier than expected..........I won't be logged out(G19 Keyboard will make sure of that too lol).
Simple solution is for Trion to use selected servers for trial accounts, and I agree with dilvid, they have been lazy with their maths on this.
Actually it was more of a technical question than a complaint. I am sure there must be a way to increase capacity and keep it smooth.
I am sure the 8 pounds a month for some people are nothing to give, for some might be missed and other people mostly youngsters find it really hard to get but the point is everyone wants to take the most they can out of those 8 pounds. Even if the product is crap, which is not in the case, the aftersale can make the difference.
You should rejoice that there's queues, game feels absolutely dead and we're on the largest EU server out there. Can't even imagine how **** it'd be to play this game on a server like Cloudborne or Bloodiron.
It's not because of a surge of interest, it's because they opened trial accounts to the public as a permenant thing.
This is insane!
