    Default Dead as a dodo

    Hi all,

Been having a discussion in guild, between the few of us still active, and wanted to gauge how active the server is for the rest of you. We've been wondering if server transfers will be brought in, or even a server merge, as at the moment, we are struggling with things to do at higher levels, and have lost a lot of players due to inactivity over the past weeks.

Having not hit 50 (just hit 49), I can't comment on top level content, however the guys who are 50 in guild have said they can't get an expert dungeon run for love nor money, and have pretty much given up, levelling alts, or restarting on another server.

For me, levelling has been very quiet. I think I saw one other player in Shimmersand last night, over about 3-4 hours of playing. It's been pretty much the same throughout all the different zones I've been in.

Is this widespread through Tahkaat, or is it not as bad as it seems?

Its been pretty quite levelling although I have seen a fair few people in the zones and lots of people when there is a major invasion and a boss to kill. Ive only been 50 since the weekend but didnt have too much trouble finding a few people to run an expert dungeon on Mon night and another last night. The server does seem pretty quite and just looking at my guild's roster there are alot of people who havent logged in in some time now.

Ive been reading some other forums and quite a few people complaining about their realms being underpopulated. I do hope that they will either allow server transfers to other realms or just merge servers to make more populated realms overall as the AH (Defiant side at least) is pretty poor which is generally a good indication of the number of people playing & trying to sell stuff.

I've been having the same feelin, it did pickup a bit over the bank holiday's but my core playing time usualy evenings it's quiet. I notice quite a few 50's playing alts which doesnt help run end game content for rest of us. A lot have just disappeared, even'ts usually still draw in enough ppl to win them. My toon is just at 49 too and I'm strongly considering re-rolling on another server or just cancelling =( the thought of going through it all again so soon doesn't appeal greatly to me at moment.

Which is a damn shame cause I like the game it's got very strong qualities and stands out from a lot of recent games this last year.

I have finally decided going to re-roll on Icewatch, feel like I've wasted weeks now tho. Maybe I should warn them... nah

    have fun Tahkaat ppl bb

Default Tahkaat's low population also affecting lower level chars

    I have 4 char, around 20 and 30
    For lower level char:
    - Battlegrounds: works, although often seeing the same chars, wait times have been acceptable in the evening
    - Rifts/invasions: had a few fun invasion fights with quite some people in freemarch about a week ago, but stonefield is a problem
    - quests: always alone
    - LFG: not succeeded getting into a full group for weeks, a few times had even to give up not finding a dps for the last slot. not seen any LFG the last days.
    - WTS - WTB, can't remember haven seen any, general channels hijacked by platinum sellers
    - Auction house: almost impossible to sell stuff, even below vendor price, very hard to find stuff. Did try to sell nice purple items for ridiculous low price, no one interested
    - trying to make gold with professions is frustrating, did come to conclusion it's better sell most herbs and crafted items to vendors. gathering is just good to level your own crafting professions.

I was thinking the problem was everyone had just outleveled me, is 50 now and not yet trying another class yet.
Now I realize it's a shard problem. I indeed never had problems selecting the auctioneer, banker or class trainer because to many chars where standing around them. To many players around a mailbox has been annoying in other mmog, especially big flying mounts on top of a mailbox, but a dead city is also not fun.

    Thumbs down

I have sent several messages through the feedback system conserning this issue. I have asked them if we are going to see more action and/or if we're going to be able to move the characters to other servers.

I don't know if they usually reply to those messages or if they just read them and toss them..

Well, I don't know. On the one hand it is really very difficult to find a party to go to dungeons or to close some rifts or invasions, but on the other hand I was playing on the Cloudbourne server (PvP) and there are a lot of people, but it was imposible to be in Meridian: everything was sooo laggy. Even on Tahkaat when we have not so many people everything is laggy sometimes... so...

I joined here with a group of 5 or so friends, so its not so bad for us.
What I find smaller communities are often friendlier, the few people I do meet, whilst levelling have been polite, accommodating and reasonably skilled, making it comfortable.

The cons at the moment are, the low populations in levelling zones - just having passed scarwood reach, invasions were often tough and only 5-8 people being involved.

I/we did meet some people playing alts from a guild on the server and have joined them and its a rather nice group of people, but it seems they also need a larger player base.

I suppose the +ve points are that the community is nicer, we are forced to work together and be more flexible with each other in order to succeed and nodes etc are rarely in competition; however I do think the population could defiantly benefit from a nice influx; It seems several "shards" are like this from browsing forums and there are just a couple of highly populated ones.

I think instead of leaving people should be encouraging more to come to this quieter shard -as there is so much to be had here, shard-firsts, room to grow and again this community seems much nicer than any other MMO community I have been apart of.

To enjoy a highly populated shard, I did start a char on Whitefall.
Yesterday evening, when trying to log on I got the message: "Whitefall is full. Position in queue 58. Estimated time: About 7 minutes". After about 7 minutes I could select my char and start playing.
Tonight message is: Whitefall is full. Position in queue 149. Estimated time: About 21 minutes".
Good I still have my chars on Tahkaat.

Yesterday, I succeeded a few times getting in a dungeon on Whitefall with the LFG tool, but wait time can be easily 30min to 1h.
