Sparkwing SHOULD be a destination for transfers.

Lets try this again....

Trion have announced the destination shards for transfers and anyone can move from any shard but only a select number have been put up to be able to move to.
Lets start a discussion which everyone on the shard could contribute to and hopefully get Trions attention to put us as one of the destinations.

A few of the shards available to move to already have queue times and high population, and our humble little Sparkwing has no queue times and low pop... worth a try right?

If everyone posts a sentence or two on WHY Sparkwing should be a destination we may be able to convince Trion theyre being silly sausages.

I think it is silly that Trion is making high population shards a destination and not our struggling low population, Sparkwing has a great community that just needs to be added on, instead of split up and told:
"Hey, go be all you can be on another server"

I want sparkwing to be a destination shard, there are alot of friends and people wanting to move to this shard that are dissapointed that they cant.

Blightwield and Riptalon are on the list to be destinations yet they have log in times at peek hours and a are high pop shards.

Sparkwing goes to low and at its busiest is medium which seems crazy as its very quiet, if sparkwing was a destination i assure you that no one would leave this shard as we have built up a very good community, hence we are trying our best to get trions attention.

So why is a full shard a destination and not a low shard, this is backwards.

Also if we get made a trial shard for trials to come on, thats just silly.

As one of two gm's of absit invidia we are not leaving sparkwing.

I completely agree. I spend hours trying to get a group for a T2 and that's just boring. More people on the shard would make a massive difference.

Yeah this is very confusing, been looking forward to move my cleric over here. Also i have friends who wants to transfer over here. We need more people on this shard, at least on the Defiant side.

Since the LFG tool released I have only ever gotten into one dungeon using it, just one. If that doesn't say the population is low I don't know what does. (Note: That one group took 3 hours of waiting to find)

On top of that, I have friends that want to move their level 50s to the server but can't because of the chosen servers. Not to mention people who have alts on different servers that they want to move over. Personally, I think the server's population is low enough without the chance of people moving into different shards.

Opening up Sparkwing instead of some of the high population shards would probably give our server just the boost we need. With the way things are going this shard will be virtually empty within a few months. That's my opinion anyway.

I hope you folks at Trion reconsider not opening up the shard for transfers, thanks for reading.

I don't understand your logic in the choice of servers, could you explain why you chose these over others?

I've been on sparkwing since it was created, it's a mostly low population shard which can reach medium at peak hours.

The looking for group tool is pretty much overlooked, people run with people they know and it's usually used as a filler for that 1 dps you lack, we really need an influx of new people to make this shard an overall better place to be in terms of atmosphere and grouping.

As part of one of the very few raiding guilds and I'm sure the ohers will agree, recruiting is hell on sparkwing, I fail to see how riptalon, a server that has queues and is 90% full will benefit from being a target shard. Where's if you compare to sparkwing, no queues never full and in desperate need of new players, we would really benefit from it.

Please reconsider putting sparkwing on the target list, or consider merging us with another low pop server.

I agree that Sparkwing needs to be on the list of to go to shards! As everyone already said we have a great community going here. Atleast 2 guilds that goes to raid( sorry if it are more I just know of 2 atm) and other guilds that a struggling for numbers to go raid. But everyone is very willing to. Pls give sparkwing a chance and put it on the list to go to!!! We don't want to loose that awesome atmosphere we having going on this too little shard. Make a difference and show us you care and lett us have some more members to share our happiness with! oh and cookies ofcourse! Chocochip cookies!

Agreed, we need more peeps on this server, I have not been able to do any of the instances on my cleric cause its impossible to find a group. Also i have only ever seen 2 invasions from lvl 1 - 40

Have to agree - I also don't understand why it's the high population servers that are transfer targets.

It means the issues we have now when it comes to queueing via LFG tool will only get worse - as that's shard specific. (Warfronts fare a better due to covering a pool of shards, but those also can take long times outside of peak hours).

I see this as a missed opportunity to balance out the population across shards.
As stated by Trion, the goal of the free transfers is to allow people to group up with friends on the same server more easily.

If that grouping up would happen on the lower population servers you could expect the following to happen:
- People can still move freely to the same shard, so the main goal isn't at risk. Groups of friends would move anywhere they can meet up if they want to play together, so we can assume they'd be willing to move from high to low population.

- People that initially rolled on high-population servers and are now annoyed with queue times will jump to lower-pop ones to avoid queue times. This makes those people happy and reduces said queue times at the same time.

- People on lower population shards will see more activity on their server, reducing shard-specific queue times and improving anything that generally works better with more people. (AH economy, overall group play and PuGging/public grouping in particular...)


So I really would prefer to see low-pop shards like Sparkwing become the transfer targets, not the high-pop ones..

Re Sparkwing - I think the message Trion is giving out is that this server is going to be allowed to stagnate. They have already decided on a couple of other low pop shards for xfer destinations.

With the shard already being pretty low in player numbers, it will only take a few people to transfer out and things like tackling invasions, world events etc will be out of reach.

Going to hop over to one of these xfer shards (not Riptalon), as their populations should rise in the near future.

This news is indeed unfortunate,me and many others alike were hoping that transfers would help the shard and bring along some new faces to make it an even better place than it is,not destroy it.

It's obvious the plan here is to kinda persuade us to move away so they can keep the shard for trials or eventually let it fizzle away without the dreaded "merge" world being used,and i fear that any attempt to get them to rethink this through will only fall on deaf ears.

Ultimately tough decisions will now have to be made by individual players and guild leaders alike,shall we be valiant and stick it out for the sake of a nice yet inevitably crumbling community or move along so our guilds can have a chance to flourish instead of stagnating on a sinking ship?

I can only find one answer to that question and it's not the one i had hoped for...

Yeah I agree, the decision to not allow transfers to Sparkwing but to allow transfers to 3-4 more populated PvE servers instead looks like Trion are just giving up on this server.

Which is a real shame because despite the population issues, it feels like we've really been making progress here in recent weeks, more and more people (at least on Guardian side) have been getting in to raiding and I've seen more and more people active in t1s. Yes, in Viking Alliance we still sometimes struggle to fill our 20 man raids occasionally, but just a few extra players coming here could have made all the difference and we actually had people lined up to come here had server transfers here been allowed.

Plus the overall community and atmosphere on the server feels really good these days.

It feels like the players here are more interested in addressing population issues on Sparkwing than Trion themselves are.

Totally agree- spakwing should be on the transfer list, it being left out does not make sense.
why would you allow ppl to transfer to already busy shards??, no logic here trion.
