    Default Dominator/Harbinger Hybrid

    1. Preset Name: Despoiler
    2. Brief Description: A mage that uses their vast controlling abilities to lock an enemy into place as they viciously attack their enemy with their lightning blade. A Despoiler is best used for soloing, leveling or for PvP. It is not recommended as a DPS preset.
    3. Group Role: Support
    4. Souls:
      1. Soul 1: 41 Dominator
      2. Soul 2: 35 Harbinger
      3. Soul 3: 0 Archon
    5. Key Abilities:
      1. Ability 1: Transmogrify
      2. Ability 2: Storm Shackle
      3. Ability 3: Storm Slash
    6. Difficulty: Advanced
    7. Basics: A Despoiler prioritizes Spell Power with cloth armor to increase the amount of damage dealt from all their sources of damage. In order to be successful, a Despoiler will deal damage while the enemy harms themselves and is drained of their resources.
    8. How to Play: A Despoiler begins their assault with a Transmogrify, followed by applying debuffs as they close in to their target. Upon entering melee range, a Despoiler begins to use Harbinger abilities to deal damage.
    9. Tips:
      1. Tip 1: Use Transference on a Warrior or Rogue enemy rather than a Mage or Cleric enemy.
      2. Tip 2: Use your Eldritch Armor procs on Malevolent Bolt.
      3. Tip 3: Use Transmogrify, Death's Edict or Disabling Shock to increase or decrease distance between you and your enemy.
    10. Minimum Level: 45

This is from a PVP perspective, but the build looks like having a strong PVP focus...

You probably want to drop to 40 Dom, as Malevolent Bolt isn't exactly good. with 36p in Harb you gain Blademark and Glaring Fetters, which are two very good abilities.
0p Archon has a nuke -- maybe not the strongest damage, but solid and it is an extra debuff. As an alternative (if you are willing to skip SV) Pyro has a good nuke and another instant filler for movement, and Warlock gives you at least a little self healing...

... which leads to my second questions: How does this build actually fare in PVP, considering it has neither high killing power nor any self heals.
PVP has become quite burst recently, and there are a good number of specs that can throw out 3k++ even through CC / Dom debuffs...

Either way, it is an interesting idea.
Maybe at a Magelo soul tree link for ease of use?

PVP/soloing/levelling is what it's labelled as! If you think it's having a strong PVP focus then I guess that's the way you look at it. I've tried it in all three and found it works equally as great as the others.

I'm keeping the feel of a Dominator-base to the build. Using an ability that is acquired through spending zero points in a spec for a major part of the specs gameplay seems somewhat misleading to what is it labelled as.

I find it incredibly fun and use it often when I do PvP on my mage. It has great CC ability (Dominator?! CC?! ) alongside the same amount of energy/power/mana draining that all 61 Doms have. What I find great about this spec is that you have some more powerful ST offensive and defensive capabilities as compared to a 61 Dom.
I don't think there's much Mage specs that have significant self healing in PvP. You have Elementalist that sacrifices your pet and gives you 50% health but that's kicking you in the gut for killing your pet; you also have many Chloromancer hybrids but their damage output is lower than the average.

Remember that the spec has been flagged as Support. It's not designed for huge dps and self healing. It provides vast CC alongside sustained ST DPS.

Either way, it is an interesting idea.

I liked the concept and idea because it's something I enjoy playing as.
