"Ha-ha! Oh goodness, these photographs of felines coupled with humorous phrases are just capital! And what's this? Yon gentleman seems stricken with a sort of madness, I shall see what is the matter."

A fascinating way to fix faction population imbalances -- although it won't resolve much if there's a population imbalance problem on a PvP shard where such imbalances can prove to be a severe gameplay problem if you're at the wrong end of the stick, so to speak.

Good change.
tbh, from a lore perspective, it seemed the cross-faction antagonism was somewhat downplayed as content went along, with more emphasis on planar foes, so I'm not surprised to see this land.

I approve of this~ More options to play. There's no real reason to separate people from playing with each other.
Regardless of what happens, people will always be unhappy. Be thankful for what you have and always be constructive.
This quote offers insight into why there are so many perceived balance issues. To some, it doesn't matter how good something is; if it isn't the best, it isn't worth using.
Any chance we will see Race changes anytime soon since we are pretty much removing the factions, I would love to make my toons into Bahmis.
The same is hinted during the Guardian life saga quest, where many in Sanctum reveal themselves to be quite open to a truce with the Defiant Faction and the Cults, seeking to forgive rather than to murder (once any Bloodstorm corruption has been cleansed, of course).
Cyrill himself always has been pretty hard-nosed and unwilling to bend the knee to anyone but the Vigil, so he may take much longer to come around than anyone else I can think of. Once he does, though, I wouldn't prefer any other ally -- a half-giant in thick Plate blessed by a pantheon of Gods, yeah I'll stick next to him during the melee.
I'm excited to see where this goes in terms of what the Vigil has to say for the Guardians, and their doctrine against Magitech (ergo, if that decree extends to Brevanese technology or God Engines like the Infinity Gate -- "Go, our Ascended Army, bring victory for the Vigil across all the Planes!"). Not that the Guardians have ever needed the tools of the Defiant or Eldrich, but a change in the course of the river would be juicy for lore-hounds like myself.
Great change I was hoping this would happen I remember when it did in EQ2 the game became alot better for guilds trying to recruit and such.
+1 Trion
When you called me delusional I laughed so hard I almost fell off my unicorn!!
+1 for Trion
I'm a lore guy, And it was predictable, I saw this coming since the launch of Rift
Story, and why guardians and defiants were ennemies to start with,
Defiants were technology users, and guardians were believing in god
Now, Together We Stand
Maybe in the world, We will have to change our mindset to,
Together We Stand

The Balance Of Life
I Speak The Trout, I Smell The Truth
But but but what about the "Skirmish" zone events !!!
Awesome changes, i wonder will it lead to cross faction IA's as well, although as some have pointed out, would need some changes to NPC's in the open world
Or maybe have only each Factions guards in Meridian and Sanctum remain hostile, IA aggro sorted![]()
I came here prepared with a massive rant, Cloak of Flame-Proofing, 3 buckets or troll repellent and a bag of popcorn, but these changes just make too much sense.
Damn you Trion for making sense and making changes in a way which pleases multiple sides of the board in one go.
I smell dwarfs. >;]
Interesting change... wonder if we also get (in SL maybe?) some quests around our faction leaders. Would like to know what they are thinking about "our teamwork". ;)
Generally I would like to see more lore about them.
Anway, nice Trion. *bows*
Nice, now I can group up in WF with my friends from other shards!
