Trapping is now active on PTS

Seems a rough version of Trapping is up on the PTS for some zones, caught my first companion earlier in Scarlet Gorge

The name of the mob will appear on your screen where your planar bag normally is, a "temporary ability" icon will appear to use as a net, simply get into melee range and use the net on mob

Best of all, it does not despawn so no more endless camping of mob or waiting for a respawn if it was just caught by somebody else, it's soulbound as well so you can scrap that idea of grinding and selling them

Also had a few different Cobras pop up on screen in Shimmersand but couldn't target anything so i'm assuming some zones aren't populated yet ?

So thats what that was! I logged on last night and got a message about a Mordant something and a little net icon appeared. But when I moved around it disappeared. I thought it had something to do with the world event. Makes total sense now!

Got that as well in Droughlands, around where you do the Scavenger quest, it was a mini Mordant but like you, even when using /tar <name> it wouldn't lock on

It was the same around Shimmersand, had a lot of different Cobras briefly pop on screen but again, couldn't target them

What you are finding is actually part of the Summerfest event! The theme of Summerfest is “Scavenger Hunt”, and so lucky hunters will find these critters popping up around Telara for the duration of Summerfest. Currently there are no clues placed in-game for these pets, it’s up to the community to figure out how to get them all.

I saw the net icon and the message to catch this or that, but, never was anything living visible. Hmm, maybe a latency issue for me. I will have to go see if waiting a bit helps.
