"Grind" is a process of of simple repetitive actions. Requires neither skill nor effort.
While decent games offer lengthy quest chains and worthy dungeon drops from interesting boss encounters, we are stuck doing the same dailies every day for months, doing no-skill-involved normal mode dungeons for rep (cause it's the fastest way and quests in Rift are terrible) 1000 times, and trying to hit an invasion mob at least once to get some credit. Such an exciting experience! Truly the way I always imagined a next gen MMO.

Raid / group instances. PvP is okay. Most activities you can enjoy in an organised way (with a group of friends or guild mates) are fun. Questing can be fun if it involves challenging mobs or difficult update scenarios (so you need an organised group or raid of players, which is very rare for Rift). Open dungeons and -difficult- open world raid bosses (contested mobs) are great fun, but Rift has none of these.
Mentoring system could provide a lot of fun if it was present.

when more grind is added to any game it is only to make up for not having anything real to go do all mmos do this when they have nothing new for you to do in game cost money to add real things in game to do money in bank not going back in to game what most mmos do now becase if game dont work out they have the money lol

There's a pile of new vendor lessers on the PTS, each costing 150 inscribed and 5000 planarite. Very good stuff.

Time to grind out 900 inscribed.

I really hope there is then also "Very good stuff" PVP lessers to get!

Unless T2 rifts award a lot more SS, the amount should be reduced.
One of my problems with this game that it is a huge grind.
Grind to 50, notoriety grind, PvP grind, crafting daily grind, world event currency grind, planerite + sourcestone grind, planar attunement grind, plaque then mark grind... I don't mind killing stuff to get drops, there is some random factor... But this is just doing the same old stuff x1000 times. There is no challenge, no progression. Just repetition. Time sink.
Grinding is not fun. Not need to make us grind more than we need to. :\
We need more options when it comes to content. Right now it's "I'd love to do this cause it's more fun, but I need to do that x1000 times even though I hate it". Come on, let's make the game more fun! It's not like there is not enough content and nothing to do right now!

Even getting 50 right now usually means maxing out planarite let alone stockpiling 150.
