Default Why does Hit > Focus on items?

It seems like it is quite a bit easier to gain Hit than Focus. I've seen a few 50+ hit rings in HK, never seen a 50+ focus ring. I've also seen 50+ hit purple gloves that were dropped, but I had to get the relic gloves to get 50 focus on them.

It just seems like, at this point, it's easier to gain hit than focus.

Is there a reason for this?

It's likely that mobs don't suffer from the same resistances vs successful hit for spell damage vs melee damage.

In most MMO's, casters generally have an easier time landing spells over melee. I'd say it would be something along these lines here also.

I cannot speak for HK stuff, but from seeing T2 and R1 it appears easier for Focus.

Guess it's just perception (several mages in my guild are already 300 whilst the melees are strugling albeit slightly) :P

I can only suggest we still have not seen the full loot table for HK gear and perhaps theres more +focus to come.

Shoulders don't have hit. Shoulders can have focus.

funny how you use HK gear to claim it's easier to get hit. you need at least 300 hit/focus to do the content properly, and then you can start getting all of your hit?
that being said, melee classes do have some hit giving talents.

You need 321 hit in HK to not get any misses
You need 300 focus in HK to not get any resists

    Correct?

Akylios the rotter has decided he doesn't like being hit by attacks and spells and so being the cad he is, requires a tad more Hit/Focus than your average jerry.

Once you get past the first floor you need more than 320, i think Akylios needs 420 hit/focus

Touche sir, I was referring to viable shoulders, but that's my fault for not specifying.
Perhaps you could come to mine so I don't have to worry about flying back to Aus while pregnant?

    7. Mages have less focus
    8. Mages have crap for synergy
    9. Mages have to rely on consumables and raid buffs

Time to admit the only class Trion developers play is the rogue, and they care nothing for the others.

I think the math is that:
    In T1 Raiding---
    Hit: 225
    Foc: 210ish
    In T2 Raiding---
    Hit: 325
    Foc: 310ish
