Default Serpent Strike Lowered per chance?

I would like to see Serpent Strike lowered to 44pts. This would give assassins a little freedom to use other souls without using all 51pts. Plus, this would give us the needed front-side damage. With Slip being slightly nerfed, I think this would be helpful and create better souls instead of the typical 51 Assassin build.

A 1.5k off-GCD attack should be at 52 points tbh.

Here I thought I was the one drinking since 8 AM.

I do agree though, SS should be lower. Its the only reason we go so high in Sin.

I think serpent strike should stay where it is. What else would you make the final talent if not that? Something else that's even better? Sounds broken, and I'm a rogue.

should be the 31pt ability and slip away should move to 51pt, that would fix pve dps :P
Useful Rogue guides since I don't want to answer 50 billion questions anymore:
Marksman, Ranger, Nightblade, Blink'Blade, Asstalker, Assdancer, and finally The Hoko Spec™

Agreed. I think they should swap it with Slip Away, personally. Warriors have a lot more oGCD attacks, and some of them hit just as hard with out having to go so deep into a tree. If anything, they should be adding more oGCD attacks and Reactives throughout the Rogue trees - along with some better energy management.

As far as it hitting for 1500 damage, I'd have to say not quite with P8 weapons. With Deadly Dance buff, it only hits for 1600-1800 on well geared targets. That's at DOUBLE damage. In the typical 51Sin/15Inf build, it hits for more like 1100-1300. Non-P8 Rogues hit for considerably less...most of them are only hitting me for about 800-900 with it.

Way I see it, it doesn't pack the punch a 51-point ability should. I think that if they don't want to swap it with SA, they should add something to it...energy regen proc, mana/energy leech, or something.

does 1.5k actually sound like a lot of damage to you? also note its single target lol.

The REAL question here is, if they switched it with slip away, would you still go 51 sin? Slip away and its WTFOPness (according to the forums) would be the next logical 51 pointer.

Or they could move perma-stealth...seems to be a little QQ Over that one

well there would still be the need for 44 pt assassin to make stealth useful so there still isn't much wiggle room for assassin specs even with SS lowered to 31pt

Slipaway is about overpowered as a chew toy.

"Duh. Why Rogue able to escape after I just wiped his team. Why me no get free kill??? It must be not fair and over powered."

Either way I get to pewpew.

If felblades stays at 16 points, 44 sin vs. 51 sin will be huge. The next FoTM would probably all start with 44sin/16nb

Ahh the good old "You didn't die so I didn't win" philosophy. Funny how if I have to slip away I don't feel as though I've won the fight either.

I do feel for the bleed + slip away + expose weakness strategy vs. warriors. That should be fixed somewhat with putting it on a 20sec CD though.

this and it would be ridiculously OP. Rogues are already turning into melee chloro locks with there self healing so may as well let them get serpents to.

40sin/16nb/10bd. We'll call it...the sneaky lil warrior build. For PvP, if PTS changes go live as they stand, I expect 16nb to be a mainstay in any rogue build that won't be able to benefit from Vampyric Munitions but 16NB doesn't give us much by way of anti-kite. Flash of Steel makes up for that and brings with it some buffs of its own(and a toe-to-toe melee defensive CD to boot.)

Please stop saying this. Melee chlorolocks.. lol I don't even know where to go with this.. No, stop being bad and stop crying over pretty much nothing. The Buff was already changed to a 20% proc rate on a SINGLE target.

It isn't going to change anything lol.. it is vs one target.. and only 10% of the heal, 10%.. less then the total healing of that block heal trinket you guys run around with.

I swear warriors are the biggest whiners.. only thing worse about warriors is the obscene sense of entitlement that seems to come along with playing one.
