    Hi everyone,

    Please use this thread to discuss, report bugs, and share your feedback about the new Planar Attunement system coming in 1.5.

    We've provided an overview of the system below. Please remember to be respectful of others opinions and keep your feedback constructive, objective, and on-topic at all times.

    Planar Attunement

    Basic System Overview
    • Attunement is all about Progressing your character after 50
    • Attunement Experience can be earned via any activity that awards XP normally so play whatever content you enjoy the most
    • Each “Ding” worth of experience will award you Attunement points which you can spend on Planar attunement
    • Players can spend attunement points in one of the six planes to purchase a variety of bonuses ranging from combat to utility

    How to
    1. Earn points by completing post 50 “Attunement Levels”
    2. Open the Planar Attunement window, widget can be found on the menu bar
    3. Spend points by clicking on bonuses
    4. Purchasing bonuses will unlock adjacent bonuses
    5. Purchasing a complete tier will unlock the next tier
    6. Confirm and save your changes on exit (Same as soul tree)

    Know Issues / Features
    • Tiers 2 & 3 bonuses are locked for initial launch of the system. These bonuses will unlock with later content
    • Bonus Values , Costs, and types are all “In progress” we plan on continuing to adjust these throughout PTS based on player feedback and internal testing

    Typo in the Desc of Rogue's Fire Attunement - Said for "... Axes (?) and Daggers" while it should be Guns and not Daggers.

    Values seemed fine, except the Weapon DPS ones, but Gersh already said that was an error in numbers.

    cant even level in it due to the system thinking i have -717408/500000 (-143%) xp

    I really like how it looks so far and all that.. I'm just worried about the weapon requirements. What if I'm DPSing with a staff and I put all my stuff into an element that focuses on staves, then I get a really good 2h mace? Can I reset my points? Other than that, it's what I was expecting, and I want it even more now!

    They changed the values required per level since before earlier days. So if you took any levels during then, you will have a negative value. Getting exp will decrease this negative values, and then it will go positive.

    The values look ok. I wonder why though it went from 100k exp needed to "level" to 500k. I'm also wondering if everyone that's currently at 50 when it's released will all start at the exact same point (the beginning of exp gained) or everything accumulated since hitting 50 will be given to the player at release. I've done so many dailies and killed so many things it's not even funny... lol

    and yes... would love to be able to have points on the PTS already to play with for better testing purposes.

    Feedback from the other thread:


    I like the ideas. Quick feedback:

    Specialization in weapons. DON'T DO THIS! It's a great idea and I support it, but your game itemization does not. I can do more dmg with polearms. Awesome. Anyone find a polearm in HK yet? No didn't think so. OOH 2h axe. Great! Nope no 2h axes in T2s. Good luck waiting to get soul reaper from Alsbeth. Point is, there are not enough weapon drops in the game for you to be choosy about specializing.

    Elemental Focusing "More damage to elements from the plane of xxxx" Cool idea. Makes the slivers more interesting. Now why is there no equivalent for tanking? Reduced damage anywhere????


    Random bonuses "Delay time until you take falling damage by .... " "Increases speed while soulwalking" Really? I can be better at dying? Thanks!

    UI In general, it's not intuitive. Ok there are circles I can click here and there.... what do they mean? Why are they non-linear? Could do a better job directing the user.

    It's a great start. Look to see what else you guys get.

    I've just started playing around with my PTS character and getting exp... has anyone gotten any points yet? It would be nice if we could "sacrifice" points to get to better bonuses quicker. In other words, maybe we could spend points in 'empty' squares to get to the some of the outer bonuses quicker if we wanted to. can't tell if this is the case.

    Also, it seems a bit excessive to getting the first set of bonuses right now, but time will tell. IMO, the first couple tiers should come quick, but then should obviously scale up quite a bit to slow down progression up the tiers. maybe I'm wrong though, and this is also influenced by the fact that I am not getting exp from daily quests so maybe if that is fixed it'll be different.

    Finally, and this one is huge, daily quest exp really, really needs to count for these things. Right now on the test server, quest exp from Daily Quests is NOT granting you experience towards Planar Attunement. Is this a bug?

    Is there a particular quest you had this issue with? Some quests may be flagged to grant no XP, but in general all XP sources should work with AA

    Doing a quick look at it and Would really like to know about the Wand Mastery.

    Does that mean we get that so long as we have a wand equiped? or do we actualy have to be attacking with it, which to be honest NO caster would do.

    Second question: On the Nodes what does the upper number represent (the 100 on the Lure nodes for example).

    Would be nice of someone could explain me a few things:
    -It really feels like it will require a massive grind equalling Asiagrinders. If it turns out to be this way, I won't support this. The first level already requires 500k exp with every mob in the chronicle of HH giving ~900. Is it really meant to turn this game into an asiagrinder?

    -Wording of some abilities is a bit vague. For example, "Increases DPS with a two-handed weapon by 30" isn't exactly obvious. Does it equal 300 AP? Does it add 30 weapon DPS? Both would be insane, so what exactly does it do? Does it just increase damage of autoattacks?

    -Is there a way to reset it for a little money? If not, I see a real problem in this because of loot tables (maybe I get a nice axe but can't use it because of specialisation? or maybe there are none at all in the loot tables?), constant class changes (one patch 2hand might be better, the next dual wield) and ultimatelly because of the flexibility of the soul system. I often change between tank and DPS and on my cleric alt I even switch between healing, dps, tank and support all the time. This system really discourages switching the way it looks now.
    So is there a way to reset it?

    None of the bonuses are intended to be major boosts. If people want to asiagrind it up to get 3 more int that's fine by me. How it is intended to work is that as you do other things, you get these rewards over time. PvP, raiding, rep grinds, all of these will accumulate exp over time. I farmed 300k exp two days ago on the PTS (when leveling AA was 100k exp) and I did it in about 2 hours. Thank you invasions coating Zarephs lol.
