And my fps according to the tooltip, with a screen like that, is FIVE.

That's odd, because I see a max of around 980mb of VRAM usage on my GTX 570 SLI and I run 2560x1600, maxed settings (including shadow resolution/detail) + edge blur AA. I don't think I've ever seen it top 1gb other than a handful of times.
    Rig: 256gb SSD, i7 2600K quad-core (w/ HT, 4400mhz), GTX 670 Gigabyte OC WindForce @ 1354core/6510mem, 2560x1600 (Dell 3007wfp-hc S-IPS LCD monitor 30"), 16GB DDR3.

580s in SLI provide no improvement in framerate.

I get about the same framerate at 5760x1080 too.

It's very odd, indeed. I wonder if Nvidia is handling this differently; their latest generation of cards has quite decent performance in Rift.

To give me something to look at while doing my cleric testing, I've been watching GPU-Z, and my laptops (that I only use for situations like this, when I'm kicked back in bed mashing button and trawling forums) Radeon HD 42xx series card tops out at half a gig of memory used, on the highest texture settings.

What resolution do you use? How much VRAM does your card have?
It'd be interesting to see some 5xx0 card data, my VRAM usage results are pretty consistent.

Default just a small nvidia+intel comparison

as i dont use a ATI card, i do feel your pain and wanted to post my specs for you guys to compare to. i run an older computer with rift and get way better fps. you guys should be blowing me away here.... i run setting on mid with terrain distance and object distance all the way up. OC my vid card seems to help but never more than 5% or so, even when GPU is OC more than 30%. hope this helps. i soon plan to upgrade to ATI/AMD
    CPU: x2 5150 Xeons @2.66
    VIDEO: GTX 460 OC 1gb
    RAM: 6gb buffered 1066mhz
    OS: Win7 64bit
    Settings Tweaked: CPUThread=0
    FPS: 30+ in a crowded sanctum, 30-50 pvp/raids, 50+ solo

    * i run in 1600x900 in fullscreen windowed btw

Yep, I have at least 4x the processing power and around 2/3 of your FPS...

The thread is over a month old and still no dev response. Not even "we are looking into it". Not sure what to say...

That's great! Thanks for the link!
Still not sure why they haven't post here, though. But ah well, it's the result that matters.

I know one thing for sure, rift does not appear to have support for CrossfireX which is certainly screwing a lot of people up.

I can run AMD's utility to monitor my CPU and both of my 6950 ATI 2gig cards that are setup in CFX and only the first GPU shoots up when i'm playing, the second one sits at 0% forever =(
When reading this post, let it be known, it was meant to be heard in a non-threatening, non-demanding way. Thank you.

They're probably not posting here because it's the PTS forum, not the tech support forum.

Silly really, since the majority of the people who post here are inclined to actually do testing and trouble shoot, while the majority of posts I skim over in tech support consist entirely of WAAAHH!

Totally off topic, but why did you waste money on a 6970 when you can just buy a 6950 and unlock it....?
However, you are totally correct, my 6950 unlocked and running at 920/1450 and a 2500k oc to 4gz runs meridian at 20-25 fps.... wtf is that? I can run witcher 2 at 35 ish on maximum and the graphics blow rift out the water. genereally mmo's are cpu based, however from stock (3.3) to 4ghz gave me almost no change.
