Question What kind of guild do you prefer being a member of?

Since a user requested such a great poll, here it is! We added a few more options to pick from but basically the same!

Hardcore Raider here. However I tend to join guilds that are hardcore PvE + medium PvP + casual RP... Btw thanks for adding more polls jives!

Competitive Hardcore Raiding, ftw. I love being one of the first few to kill certain mobs

I've been in all types of guilds from the hardcore "be there at 7 sharp or you are getting /kicked!" raiding guild to the 10-hour a day hardcore PvP guild to the "wat doz dis batton doo??!!?!" casual newbie gamer guild. It will all depend on where the most fun in Rift is and where I am in life when it releases.

That said, I clicked competitive PvP because I think a game focused on dynamic content could have a really good PvP system. That and some of the posters on these boards make me think there will be plenty of easy prey to gank. Mwahahaha... where's that devil emoticon when you need it?

"Casual ‘just for fun’ type guilds" because I'll be the leader of one.
But we will try that hardcore player will be happy there ^^ als long as they accept that "noone is forced to raid" but if some want to ... they can ..
Of course also focused on PvE content as well as PvP ...

Yeah and I'm also not such a hardcore player. I like to have time to explore and such things ... well we will see how Rift will change my experience ... if raiding is such fun, maybe I'll get a hardcore raider

Would like a mix between the "Hard Core Raiding guild" and the "Dedicated PvE & Leveling guilds". But since that's not an option I picked "Dedicated PvE & Leveling guilds".

I voted casual, just for fun guild. The reason is because I've been in a 36 hour a week raiding guild, and I swore I'd never do that to myself again (however, it was a lot of fun).

I see casual as; Log in, see what we can do with the amount of players on, have fun til people have something else to do in real life, then log off and head to the local pub. But I play with veteran casuals, that could be hardcore of they had the time, or wanted to spend the time.

I've been in all kinds of guilds from family/friend to raiding and enjoyed my time in all of them. I chose hardcore raiding in the poll but I'll see what the game offers before deciding. Linear = rushing to max; Nonlinear = taking time to have fun along the way.

Voted casual, just for fun. But ultimately always look for guilds that are casual, pve-focused, and family friendly (chat kept clean). And if there's older folks closer to my age, all the better.

I guess I'm not seeing the "casual raid" guild or the "non-competitive raid guild" options.

I tend to go for casual raiding type guilds. When you have littleones, its hard to commit to be online for any specific time so casual raid guilds have always worked best for me.

I'm somewhere in the mix of several of these choices. I think the ideal would be a medium to serious RP guild that's focused on PvE and leveling and raids sometimes? I don't think that exists though.

    Dedicated PvE & Leveling guild

I'd like ot be in a guild that aims for PvE, not that hardcore, but it should be serious and not "Hopefully enough ppl show up for the raid tonight". And I don't want to be forced to raid 5 night a week.

PvP is also sheitloads of fun, but joining a pvp guild is nothing i've ever thought about, altho I consider myself pretty decent at PvP. But i'm also good at PvE.. hmm.. I'm the ultimate gamer.

Not surprised to see "Hard Core Raiding guild" currently at the top.

This is just from my experience with raiding, I have no statistical data to back this up.

    1. "Hard core" raiders tend to be out spoken (thus, lots of forum usage)
    2. Personalities attracted to "hard core" raiding are more savvy in the area of game mechanics. Many read/write/analyze a games combat mechanics. (http://elitistjerks.com/ as an example). It almost part of the definition.
    3. Being that invested into a game and game mechanics, they are generally more likely to follow games (they find interesting) in development.

They also, as a guild, have been used to help developers hammer out boss encounters. So you tend to see a number of these folks on development forums.

Competitive PVP guild for me, i don't get a ****** for pixels or beating NPCs. Id rather storm a keep and fight other players.

though i do PVE from time to time if my guild wants.

WTB the above item .... mine broke
