Yeah. Mad that I bothered trying to assemble the perfect balance of costume, scenery, lighting, and pose when apparently one of the hundreds of screenshots my cats take when walking across the keyboard would have sufficed.

I think you are taking this contest way to seriously.That's probably why you are so upset,just be happy for the people who won.I spent a lot more time on my "the beautiful" screenshots but I didn't expect to win any of them. I posted this one because it fit the category of bizarre.I don't see the point in coming on here to trash talk the winners(speaking for all 3 threads since its happening in them as well).

And yeah, people are going to be upset. The rules were thrown out and those people that chose not to follow them were given an unfair advantage over others. I saw some very creative screenshots that followed the rules and were not picked. Why? I don't know. There would probably be less controversy if a lot of the finalists actually followed the rules.

You said it yourself: This was a contest. Like it or not, a lot of people get competitive over a lot dumber things than a game. The fact is, rules were posted to govern a contest, and some people who went outside those rules are being rewarded. Do I expect Trion to throw out those submissions now, after they were declared finalists? No. Am I bitter that I had several screenshots I was considering posting, but only posted 1 because that's what the rules stated? Absolutely. I can handling losing when I'm playing the same game as everyone else, but that's not the case here.

Edit: I'm also a little aggravated the Trion hasn't even acknowledged that some of the finalists broke the rules. I don't care if they still win, but Trion should at least admit that they dropped the ball.

Really? What world do you live in where there aren't laws to abide, work/school policies, household guidelines, etc.?

I'm happy for the people who were chosen who actually followed the rules. The ones who didn't don't belong here. It's not about this one contest either. We're trying to make sure this nonsense isn't repeated in future competitions.

You admit that this is a contest. Contests have rules, and contests are meant to be competitive. To say that its okay to break rules and to not treat it as a competition means it is anything but a contest. And no, this was not just for fun because there are winners and prizes, prizes which limit the participants. I know you might not have noticed it because the rules were also on that very same page.

I don't care that you won, I don't care that I lost. What I care about is that Trion, the host of this contest, doesn't give a damn about their own principles and boundaries.

If someone was hacking in the game with speed hack, invincible hack, and a hack that lets them do 10x normal damage, and started to track you down and kill you constantly.. what do you do? Oh, report them to Trion because they're CHEATING. And hell, if anything, THAT would be just for fun because there's no competition, no rules, and no prizes. But hey, 5000 more people do it and it becomes the standard, then Trion suddenly rewards them by giving them prizes for able to kill so much people.. That's basically a run down of what happened.

Did you honestly think the judges for this were going to nit pick over ever detail trying to pick the perfect screen shots ? They are people and choose what they though was best. It may be hard to accept but most people who get ahead don't play fairly.

Actually you saying because trion didn't follow their rules to a dime you lost. Its obvious you are upset about losing,no one complains this much over a bonus contest.

Obvious troll is obvious. Bragging about AFKing in Whitefall, about getting their picture selected... all the while fully admitting Trion is in the wrong. There's always going to be people ignoring the point and saying "Move on!" or simply trolling by accusing people of being bitter or QQing (when neither of those things speak to the ultimate point of whether something was done fairly and good faith or not). Not worth responding to those sorts, IMO.

Bottom line: there's documented proof of rule breaking, and people who listened to Trion have a right to feel like they got a raw deal when they turned around and went with people who blatantly ignored, Trion's own ruleset.

I like Trion and Rift quite a bit, and they've shown in the past that they're fairly good for listening to the fanbase. I like to think, if we express our opinions openly and rationally as we have been, there is a good chance they'll take note, especially over mere playground-level "Nya nya, I got picked, you didn't, go cry somewhere!" bullying.

Clearly the losers aren't upset which is why they bothered going through the pages to find the winners and check how many screen shots they submitted than took a close look to see which ones were slight shopped.

Screen shots is plural and they didn't bother saying only submit 1 entry and being slightly shopped who cares...I think they meant don't photo shop a different thing onto the picture,people only tweaked the color slightly isn't photo shopping enough to matter. That slightly photo shop barely made a difference.

Seriously no one is "bullying" you,You are a spoiled child crying about minor technicalities because you didn't get chosen.

That is the point a majority of people didn't read all the rules because they weren't on the submission page.I'm sure they realized they can't exclude 90% of the submissions and its a bonus contest it doesn't need to be followed with the iron will of **** Germany.

You realize most of the people who won followed the rules (myself included). Yours and other people who followed the rules and lost were not picked because your screen shots weren't as appealing to the judges. I'm done arguing with a pouting child. Whom continues to cry about the rules being broken (not to extent that would actually affect anything) as a guise to mask his anger for not being picked to get a mini pet that will be summoned 5 times and forgotten.

You are beating a dead horse man, they won't make your entry a finalist probably because they didn't like it. It was a very biased contest from the start, not to mention the finalist voting is basically a popularity contest. If you have a complaint about it, there is a neat little button in-game that says "Submit Game Feedback." Please use that.

Move on, and grow up. It's people like you that ruin contests that may come up in the future.

P.S. I didn't get voted as a finalist but it was fun to come up with the cool screenshot.
