I picked diaries because to me that provides the best insight on what the devs are planning. Interviews aren't bad either but I think devs express themselves better when they sit down and write about what they want instead of just answering questions.

I like to understand their reasoning behind their choices and that usually comes from blogs and diaries.

footage will always win. Its easy to talk about stuff but seeing things is 100X better.

I have to say I like it all. Any information from the devs is welcome information.

What I love most of all, and hence chose, is in-game footage. I'd more than love to see a short video of a small group tackling a mob or three.

Keep up the screenshots too Jives. Love to see a new pic each day.

I am actually shocked people are picking screenshots. But to each their own.

You are shocked easily, as only 2 people have voted for screenshots.
If you say plz instead of please, I say no because it's shorter than yes.

I like dev dairies because it gives a little insight to their way of thinking. In game footage...meh...I will eventually be in game so I will just see it than.
...Nature, whose sweet rains fall on unjust and just alike, will have clefts in the rocks where I may hide, and secret valleys in whose silence I may weep undisturbed...she will cleanse me in the great waters, and with bitter herbs make me whole.

Dev Diaries, they offer info on the game and the company designing it.

While interviews with devs and dev diaries are awsome things, I think it is a rather easy choose if they are compared to in-game footage. We are so curious about RIFT at this point that I think the majority would pick in-game footage over the previous mentioned options anyday.

As most people my choice were in-game footage, simply as it shows you the actual gameplay.

Ofcourse some diaries etc. for confiming things, is nice. It should really be a mix of all, but the videos are the most fun in the end

Love to see a little bit of everything if possible. But in game footage would be most appreciated.

I voted OTHER because I'd like to see a continual mix of Developer Interviews and NEW in game footage.

As a 15 year plus player of MMORPgs going back to when the phrase MMORPG was not coined and we called them graphical MUD's; it's my experience that a game is only as good as the dungeon master develops it to be. They are the gods of the virtual world the rpg is functioning in.

You don't have to be best friends with the devs, however; it does help you understand the game world if you at least know who the devs are, what their game philosophy is, and how well they intend to balance the four basic player types that inhabit the online rpg virtual world.

For instance, does the developer learn from past mistakes, listen to the player base and use any good suggestions in their discretion. or does the developer just pay lip service to the playerbase and plow straight ahead with a my way or the highway attitude. Many a good MMORPG has been ruined by developers that live in ivory towers playing god and punishing the subscribers when they complain about bad conditions.

One of the most awesome MMOs Ive ever played is Vanguard: Saga of Heroes. Through very bad ownership and developer activities; in just over 3 and a half years, VG has dwindled to one USA server and a Euro server with a ghost town population. Most Vanguard players loved the game but found SOE management and the current crop of developers to be unbearable. Ask ex Vanguard players about VG and most will say it was an awesome game with huge potential that never got the chance to be realized due to seriously bad management.

Can't wait to learn about the Rift developers and beta test their creation.
