    Okay folks, thanks for waiting.

    In the internal tests of the USB drives sent to purchasers of the European Collector’s Edition, we found a high rate of drives with faulty read/write functionality (i.e. broken drives). The faults discovered do not necessarily manifest during every day use, but we still think it's unacceptable and want to extend our most sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused to those of you who did want to use your drives but couldn’t.

    We will very shortly send out brand new USB drives – of a new production run – to everyone who opted to receive a USB drive when buying the Collector’s Edition. There is no need for you to explicitly contact us here on the forums as we'll make sure to send a replacement drive to everyone who is eligible regardless.

    Stay tuned and watch for more info!

    I dont get why they're complaingin rlly, I bought the Digital CE, and in start of this thread is says Rift Collector Edition, not Digital CE.. Yes it would be lovely to have those items ( I just want tht pet )
    But can someone explain IN A LOGICAL WAY, why should Digital buyers get those items when its a "Im sorry" present to the BOX CE buyers for pen?

    How can you possibly mean that cause they didnt get a pen, you should get those items?

    Anyhow, I VOTE FOR US D.CE geting the pet

    Well it would seem obvious from the beginning it's the manufacturer's fault. But I'm afraid it's not completely true they are "faulty". What I got seems more like fake drives made on purpose (4GB pretending to be 8 GB). But i've also heard some people had even lower capacity on their drives than me (more like 2-3 GB).

    If they are indeed fakes, we could, with the right program, fix them to their intended capacity (4GB) thus having an additional USB 4GB working properly. But with today's prices, is that even worth of the hassle it takes to fix them?


    Also, a nice digital bonus for being patient and understanding would be nice.

    Maybe some nice title like "the Frustrated", "the Furious", "The Patient" or "the Fixed";D

    This has been discussed in another thread, and I were one of those who "fixed" the pen, by reflashing it telling it to be a 4GB drive instead of an 8GB.
    I still have corruption at the end ~100MB, but I cba to reflash it yet again...

    Other than that it works flawless, but slow... very very slow...

    Thanks for your patience everyone – just wanted to stop by for a quick update. As there’s an entire manufacturing cycle for the new replacement drives to go through, it will take a little while longer until you receive them, but we'll start sending them out as soon as early/mid-August.

    Again, sorry for the wait! The replacement drives will of course go out to everyone in Europe who opted to receive a CE USB drive in the first place, they will be entirely free of charge, and you will not be required to send the old one back.

    Happy with how Trion works this out, and thanks for all that! This is proving once more that Trion cares from start till finish, the very very very..... very end.

    Wish all the stores would go thru such hells for their customers... but ofcoarse they are fast in waving you away ;)

    Maybe TRION can do something as compensation (for the long waiting time, for maybe data loss and the anger about that all...)? Something like in-game title, ingame-pet or something of that sort? That could help to make us customers a little more satisfied!

    Wishing they'd give those of us that went digital CE something more (NA version), was disappointing that we paid same as the box but got nada but the mount. Kinda feel like they went 'Suckers!' when we got ours pre-order... not sure if the EU version is the same.

    That was because the Stick was not in the Box like it should! It must be ordered separate an I waited about 10 weeks for mine, only tho get a defective/faked usb-stick!

    And if i remember right, then the box costs ~10,00 € more than the digital version.

    Agreed. We've waited long time just to receive defected sticks. I know it's the manufacturer's fault but we should get something nice for the endless wait (also, making in-game bous shouldn't be that hard).
