RIFT: Year Two State of the Game (part Two of Two)

While I very much appreciate the post, Daglar, I, too, was expecting a bit more. You've told us a bit about 2.2 but all of that was largely speculated to be there regardless. We assumed Carnival would come back and, given the timing, with 2.2. We also knew hardmodes were coming very soon and that T3 PA was on the table for 2.2 or 2.3. So while the clarity is appreciated confirming they are all coming in 2.3, what about some elaboration on the direction Rift is heading? For example, what of the following:

1) Are there any plans for high-end, competitive PvP in Rift (Arena, rated Warfronts, or some other idea)?

2) Can we expect a new tier of raiding with 2.3 or will there be a new 10m added to the existing tier (as is implied by the achievements on the PTS for a new death-themed 10m)?

3) What about shutting up the trolls for at least a few months and telling them that Trion has zero plans for F2P in the foreseeable future (not that it would even matter as I would still play Rift even if it were)?

I'm sure the list could go on.

tbh they should have said with huge letters NO WE ARE NOT GOING F2P ANYTME SOON.
thats the prob of this letter and some ppl will still saying rift is going f2p

You know what they say about assuming... So because they post a short State of the Game, hey that speaks volumes about the company! Oh, they posted a long post last year? Yeah, because 1 or 2 represents a trend, right?

What do you guys want? A detailed post about the financials, the reasons for the layoffs, sub numbers, all that jazz? As a private company, Trion doesn't HAVE to release that info, and they haven't before, so why is it necessary they need to now? Because some forum posters have some half-baked conspiracy theories that F2P is on the way? You want a long post like last year's? I just read last year's and guess what! Over HALF of that post was a RECAP of what they added. Yeah, let's all go complain because today's state of the game DIDN'T recap Storm Legion's additions!

You want details? Last time I checked, T3 PA, new zone events, Dendrome in 2.3 ARE ALL DETAILS. It's what they're WORKING ON. Should they reveal every single raid coming out in the next year? Every zone?

Three paragraphs to completely neglect giving a CONCRETE date on T3 PA, which I've been told will be coming in the next patch for the last 9-10 patches.

I'm just SO HAPPY that I could...I can't think of anything without 90 percent of it being censored.

people asking for a state of the game update that is at least similar to the summer update of 2011 or last years state of the game are not trolling. It is nice to use the troll excuse for anyone who doesn't agree with you 100% of the time, that simply is not what a troll is.

No, it's not a valid concern. Because Daglar didn't write as long a post as Hartsman? Let me ask, do you know what Hartsman did? Whenever he went into the office every day for the past year, what did he do?

You're telling me you don't know that? How about Daglar? What does he do day to day? Anyone know?

So how can ANYONE make a claim about "oh signs are bad" based on ONE post? You don't know if Hartsman was responsible for everything great about Rift and everything that sucks was Daglar's fault. You don't know if Hartsman was responsible for many of the recent changes that aren't well-received and Daglar is trying to pick up the pieces.

To make ANY assumptions because you hyped yourself up for a state of the game post and it didn't live up to your expectations is ludicrous.

I want details because when I order a ****ing package that's supposed to be delivered in 5-7 days to be delivered in 5-7 days, not constantly hear from the parcel company that "oh, we'll deliver it tomorrow" for 3 months.

I was really hoping that there would be something to re-ignite my passion for Rift. A politician surely wrote this piece. Very little of substance.

WHAT ELSE CAN THEY SAY? THEY SAID T3PA IN 2.2. DENDROME IN 2.3 That is literally in the letter. That is THE most explicit detail they can give about the release of T3 PA and the Dendrome. What other details do you want?
