I like the Laethys one, she looks like a pokemon. It's nice to see Laethys at all, even if it's a cuteified ballon version. And I'm totally not biased just because I'm on Laethys server.

Ya the maelforge thing kinda confused me too. Considering we already saw him in the game.

He shows up in the alternate future instance -- Fall of the Lantern Hook. He chases ya with constant fire damage while you run to the final boss. He didn't look at all anything like that but he was huge.

My guess is he ate way too many oreos while in prison and didn't exercise enough. Which is oki cause Laethys likes her men a little on the husky side anyway.

Very nice art. The masks/hats remind me of Mardi Gras. I wonder if that is on purpose.

Maelforge is getting a face lift for Infernal Dawn - we've used the old model all over place and he wanted something with a bit more style! I've been told you can get a glimpse of it in the Expert Fall of Lantern Hook now, but his wings mights appear a bit stiff until he wears 'em in! (AKA we improve his flight animations )

While not quite flying mounts, I think a balloon ride would be pretty cool. Pay a few gold and jump in the basket and it flies you around sanctum and nearby zones in a scenic trip. Maybe give you a bit of control to raise up and down a bit or go slower/faster (although still set to a standard course)

I actually like this idea. Its fluff but carnivals are supposed to be full of fluff and fun. I think it'd be cool to take a hot air balloon ride or something to tour your home towns and such.

Also to respond, to the dev post on the new maelforge model...

Is this model currently in game? or will it be introduced in with the coming of infernal dawn? I ran lantern hook recently and it didn't look updated at that time. Still looked like the classic scarn model.

I do agree with him needing an overhaul though. The dragons need to look as BadA as possible. Laethys looks cute though. Can't wait to see what they look like in game (once we get that far, our guild just started HK but having a blast working our way to killing the fish dragon)
