you bought your souls?? i always just did the quest and then had to close a rift to spawn that specific class and get the kill. all my souls were free, so i don't see why it should be any different now.

I would love it if you could allow us to save our Roles.
I really dislike having to rebuild all my hotkey bars every time I need to change roles.
Can't we have 'Saved Role' slots that memorises the soul points and hotkey bars?

Thanks for adding this function. I've a 50 rogue, warrior and cleric, but I could never get into the mage class, and abandoned in in the low 20's. This weekend I went into it on a whim and decided to try out this new template function, and I found it very helpful. I ended up having an enjoyable time playing through as an elemenalist. The autospend function on the tree is fantastic, great job overall.

I recently got back into the game and bought them to avoid having to hunt down tons of Rifts, and they only cost something like 20g, which really isn't bad. I'm not sure the quests are even in the game to be honest, I couldn't find anyone giving it/them out...

I very recently came back to rift and spent last week looking for warrior dps/tank combinations that I was following and then patch 1.7 hit and I saw what had happened to the soul tree and the templates and I was amazed, thats really helpful for me to lvl my warrior without having to worry about what skills to use.

I am going to use this system till 50 then start thinking about how to change souls around for raid tanking.

On my 1st main I did all the quests, as I said in my post I thought that was a great way to earn them. Then they removed that from the game so yes on any other characters I've made I had to buy them. Guess you haven't made a new character in quite awhile.
