Have you identified if we will be able to que as a mercenary if we want to...or are we all pigeon holed into randomly fighting on the other side. I know as far as RPers go they may have an issue with being forced to fight on the other side. Even just normal players may not want to que as a merc. As of right now on the PTS there is not an option to disable queing as a merc...you may want to add this in if you do not want to piss off a large portion of your player base.

This is the first patch I have to say that needs much more work before it goes live.

I'm loving it so far. Some people got WAY too used to strolling into a horde mindlessly as an invincible juggernaught. This should NEVER happen, and with the vengeance and pvp soul changes, I rather enjoy the bloodthirsty slaughter that takes place.

People like me who actually take time to set up the perfect ambush should have an advantage over those who throw a bunch of invincibility talents together and stroll around.

Bolstering rocks for my gf trying to prestige-up her new cleric. Mercenary queing is awesome - not just to cut times, but to balance out the ridiculous red vs. blue mentality that starts to ruin entire battlegroups.

I love the idea of PvP PA, simply because EVERYONE now has equal access to pvp buffs. I hate to break it to people, but some pvp souls had massively OP defensive talents (15% less crit against you? Instant heals?) whereas things like vindicator and infiltrator....wow completely useless. The field is now even for those who want to spend PA on PvP.

I don't want people thinking 1.7 is looking like a disaster - The vocal minority is hard at work voicing their quams and I am now voicing my thumbs-up, Trion.

consider that mabye they didnt ignore it, they were just overwhelmed with all the positive feedback? IMO this is an AWESOME change, and I really look forward to it. Just a clue, your opinion is just that, YOUR opinion. For one, Im glad theyre not listening to all the 'sky is falling' kids.

    Precisely ^^^

Lots of people love it. You hate dying in a few seconds when you jump onto a bridge full of 20 people?
I hate watching ONE warden/templar literally bounce around laughing at the SIX of us wailing on him outside a pvp rift. I even had fellblades up.

Oh wait, there were SEVEN of us.

If I am out minding my own business as a rogue, and a warrior comes flying out of the bushes on EI and slams me with his massive axe completely off-guard without openers, I should go down. If he is wandering around, minding his own business, and I set up my memory capture location, prepare my potions, and soup-up for an ambush, he should go down.

You want to not die quickly? I want to actually be able to kill things that have access to buttons that refill health. Simple, really. Not everyone agrees with you about the current state. Some tweaking is necessary with the 2 shotting, but not a lot.

Default Sabotage is in the air?

Unless someone wants to be a Mercenary (most likely for queue time reasons) there is a possibility of opposite faction sabotage, and there might be active attempts to sabotage the team the involuntary Mercenary has ended up with (by being afk in some fashion or refusing to fight against their own faction). I argue that people who want to be a Mercenary, as opposed to those who do not, will by their own personal reasons tend to support fighting alongside and with the opposite faction, whereas the reverse will be true for those who hate the opposite faction so much that all they want to do is to hinder them any way they can from winning a match. I do hope being a Mercenary or not is a choice instead of involuntary servitude, but I see no indication that it will be that way.

Yeah the mercenary thing needs to be an option not a mandate. Other than that I love it, I'm so glad people will get to use whatever souls they want in pvp and not be forced into the pvp soul to be competitive. The vast majority of the abilities from it are in the new pa tree, and to people whining that they are lesser values..its only tier 1, the rest will be unlocked in the other tiers obviously. Wonderful job trion keep up the good work!

well correct me if i am wrong but i believe it is 2 or 3 times as much reward for winning as losing they made it that way a month or 2 ago. So if some monkey wants to screw over the other side he/she is also screwing them selves from progression since they will be rewarded with 2 or 3 times less prestiege, favor and exp apon losing a WF. About having the option not to que as a mercenary well stop and think about this for as many as you claim might refuse to fight because they are on the wrong side will have the same or more willing to que as a merc just to force another to lose under your way of thinking. Me personally i would think most will want to win because well it benifits them to win. Heck on every weekend bonus PvP WF we get stuck with a ton of AFkers just collecting off of us and they are from our own faction. Remember they added the merc idea so we didnt have to wait forever for que times on off peak hours and also to allow more equal matches. Like i said these are my thoughts but seem logical for the most part i think alot of your fears come from open world PvP where mercs can screw up the other side badly just by being there and well they dont lose nothing by doing that in open world PvP but WF are a complete different story.

The only remaining question is why every time some one sets up to crit Elrar with the deadly ability give us a day does Elrar cast slip away?
