I am to Doctrine what you are to Fan Out, Rising Waterfall, or Fireball.
When Write tanks a boss, the boss is actually tanking Write.
I personally disregard this statement. Why? Because they trying to BALANCE PvP so that way other new 50s that reach the endgame can get gear for certain things like EI. You must be frustrated because now you can't one shot low ranks for prestige/favor and kill most ranks with one spell, because now you actually have to try to kill someone; your just afraid of a challenge. I like this because now there's no large gear difference, one r8 of anything could wipe a whole team because of the gear difference and the damage they do. I've seen a r8 mage fulminate a low rank for 9k dmg....is that fair? No. And its not fun either continuously dying from an overpowered class. I'm glad Trion is balancing the ranks because now people will probably PvP more for the gear instead of grinding for it. And I find it hilarious that you would quit because you will have a harder time now that your not so OP, so just suck it up and enjoy the game. And yes you don't work for prestige, you grind...not work, grind. Your paying to play and grinding Warfronts for gear so no, you're not working. Now that the ranks are changing, no one will have to grind really but I'm sure the gear will have to have the prerequisite armor to buy it. Btw nice spelling, and improper grammar, I applaud you. Go ahead and quit, no one's stopping you.
Subscription based business models are all about the math. The math says this, "More subscribers are better than less subscribers."
When the top whatever percentage of players (2? 5? 10?) get so far ahead that the MAJORITY of players can't break in to the end game, it's time to either buff the majority or nerf the content.
I've watched the so-called "elite" players in this thread complain about this move, saying things like "they've put in the time" and "you don't deserve," etc.
Understand this, Trion Worlds has already decided your percentage group is expendable. Whichever portion of you remains... is a bonus to them. Now I'm not saying they want you to leave, they don't. And not ALL of you will. But when what's at risk is the BULK of your business model, you cater to the broad middle. WoW did it, Rift will do it, every successful themepark subscription MMO will do it.
You will never find an MMO that stays hardcore forever, unless it's a F2P with a pay to win cash shop. And I don't think you can really call winning with a Visa card "hardcore," anyway.
