As far as I can tell in my guild, %100 of our PVP'ers think its a bad idea.
So why is this even being considered? lol

Pedantically, yes. In the spirit of the argument, no. Classes are designed to have different defensive capabilities based on their type of gear. Classes are not designed to have different amounts of valor.Originally Posted by RagnorIronclad

1. picsYour fixing rogues.. awsome when a rogue can do a 6k+ final blow already.. but fair enough give them some more..
When your doing nothing about mages that are unkillable in 1 v 1 settings. or clerics that lolwaterjet you while 5 people attempt to kill them.
2. mages are not unkillable 1v1. Chloro/lock seems to be a bit OP at the moment but that's about it.
3. if five people can't kill a cleric...

Well try to understand that it was brainstormed about heavily during lunch break a couple of days ago and it was vigorously tested for a couple of hours earlier this afternoon by a dedicated (bored) team of 7 defiants and 7 guardians on a virtually empty player test shard. Also some unlucky employee spent almost 15 minutes skimming the thousands of posts in response to this massive change in direction and design. Clearly it's ready to go live.
Bend over and grab your ankles -- this is only a taste of what's to come.

The truth is that Trion messed up when they made R8 gear that was viable for raiding.
^^^^^This resulted in 2 things.
(1) People did a grind of PvP rifts, and warfronts until they hit R8 so that they could epeen about how high their dps/heals were.
(2) People who grinded and did hit R8 ended up passing on loot that they should've been taking to improve their raiding gear PVE gear. because they were under the impression they were Best in Slot until they got into Hammerknell.
So, the only real thing that people have to really be angry about is a loss of time due to grinding PVP for the sake of PVE - and maybe some of the loot that they ended up losing because of a wrong impression.
To all those people - should you be angry? Hell yes I would rage too if I grinded 700 hours to get R8 gear for PVE and then have it not be viable anymore.
But - you can't argue this WASN'T a step in the right direction. You are mad because you became overzealous and decided to grind "PVP for PVE" instead of playing PVP for the sake of PVP. The true PVPers out there will realize this doesn't really affect them on the warfronts and PVP rifts. This is comparable to someone using a grove of apples to make orange juice - and for some miracle of nature those apples F*cking became orange juice. Then when nature corrects itself you're going WTF MY APPLES DONT TASTE LIKE OJ ANYMORE?!? - Surprise Einstein.Your PVP gear was never meant for PVE, and surprise einstein, your apples aren't meant to make Orange juice.
You're blaming Trion for a mistake that you already foresaw. Everyone whose raging right now because of PVE aspect knows 100% when they saw the synergies and the armor sets and the weapons that PVP gear was the Best in Slot.
Problem is no one QQ'd about it then because they saw it as a quick avenue of just straight grind time to get some sickass gear. Now that you spent that time grinding it out you're angry because you can't be king of the mountain anymore. Don't try to fight the change that is coming, embrace it and realize that its what should've been done from the start. The only thing you should be angry about - is that this wasn't done from the start.

For some background info, i'm a raider using rank 8 PVP gear and synergy crystal, that said...
After 145 pages of mostly people opposed, you guys don't take any additional time to evaluate your decision and then rush to hot patch.... i am at a loss for words. do you guys not care about how we feel? I'm now going to be a hit with a huge dps loss cause of you decision. I don't care "pvp gear should be for pvp."
When you introduced items like the PVP synergy crystal you didn't put any restrictions on it, and now you just take it away after i did a grind to get to rank 8. Why this ridiculous rush to hot patch, but a long wait to 1.5 to give PVE synergy crystals?
I am so baffled trion. My guess is this thread will reach another 145 pages as well and will be ignored.

I have seen this soooo many times; people getting annoyed because their gear isn't the best anymore.
People want new content. They complain when a company doesn't bring out new content.
God forbid this new content introduces gear which is better than the gear they have!
This isn't quite the same thing but I can see shadows of the same pattern twisting inside it. Trion never promised that the gear you were/are working for will be the ultimate gear, for all of eternity. Everything changes, and fighting it just bleeds stagnation.
Some people just need to walk the walk and talk the talk, you want to throw the toys from the pram, nerd rage and 'threaten' to quit? just do it, the rest of us that understand why these changes are been implemented will carry on, quite happy with what Trion delivers..
I would have thought all the 'pro, leet' Pee Vee Pee'rs would be jumping with joy to prove to their fellow PvP'ers that they have 'skills' and can show us all exactly that it was said 'skills' got them to R8 and not by keyboard turning, clicking their faceroll way to it..
So many whines QQing that after hotfix it might be possible for a lowly R2 to take down your imba, well fought for R8...looooool, just loooool....show us your prowess then, no more R8's roflstomping newbies? awww poor babas..
Still, all the 'pros' can take comfort in the thought, as they cancel their subs, you can wear grannies bathrobe, wave your foam lightsaber while fondling your Obi 'i wannabe like 'Kenobi figurine, seeing as SW:ToR is the next big 'FoTM' MMO the 'kool kids' will be playing..

Why are you complaining now. Why is anyone complaining now. WHY wasn't this complaint launched when we all foresaw the release of the PVP gear. Where were the QQs about HEY THATS PVP GEAR thats Best in Slot for PVE Raiding!

I see so much complaining that they are nerfing pvp. All they have done is bring the valor for the base pieces of the set to the same amount. They didn't change the valor on anything else. Also, it was discovered that with the vengeance change players were doing more damage in pvp. Don't believe me? Go do your own research I'm not going to hold your hand and walk you through the forums. As for PVP gear in PVE all they have done is make it so PVP gear is no longer BiS for PVE. That is all! All you complainers are overreacting, looking for a reason to *****, or the type that sees change as a bad thing and wish to attack it. As for rogue DPS in PvP it is in need of some love. I am by no means asking to be an OP class, but I do want to be more in line with everyone else, and that isn't too much to ask.
