If at some point I have to transfer and my name is already there what then?
or rather a guild do we all have to skip around?

or maybe a reason as to why?

Stupidest move in a long time.

I have the name I want.
I am in the guild I want to be in.
We are nearly at full progression on our "deserted" shard, and will have Alsbeth down before Hammerknell opens.

So instead of allowing us 100% certainty to keep our names, guild name, and all the non-guild friends we have, we are being "forced" to change shards via our own effort (so we 'can't complain about the result').

Trion, if you aren't willing to do the work to make this as painless as possible for your PAYING players (who are already on a shard you allowed them to pick at launch), then you need to be compensating those players for your laziness.
We are risking our names
We are risking our guild name
We are losing our friends and having to meet new people
We are losing out "enjoyed" lower population server

And you aren't doing anything to make the move smooth.

First if you are forcing someone out of there home, you should let them keep what they have guild name, character name. Forcing a character to change their name is a lot less invasive then forcing them to leave their home. I do not want to leave we have a good guild clearing river of souls as we speak, our progression is fine. I am quite angry and honestly this is a really good way to get people to just quit the game.

This is the most rediculous thing I have seen in a game in a long time. I understand that there are people that would like to be on a higher population server, you gave them the way to get there. I would like to know what power tripping troglodyte came up with the brilliant idea to force people to move off a shard that we are happy with. That person needs to have a brain check and be taken out of their position.

News flash, they aren't FORCING you to move. You can stay on your crappy low pop server and enjoy the small crowd. Just at this current moment, you cannot make any new toons. If you want to say on your server, go for it.

Most people were transferring off of the server I was on before this trial thing. Again, if you read the original message, you are free to stay on the trial server, but don't be expecting any new players for a while.

And where do you see which shards are designated "Trial"? I don't see it on the shard list, either on line (Shard Status) or in game at character selection.

I am not happy about this at all. I do not want to have to move off my low pop server that I have a good guild and well established friendships. Why does Trion think that forcing us to do this is acceptable? Even though my guild will prolly make the move together, I do not wish to move to a higher population server.

When you log in, it RECOMMENDS that you transfer on certain shards because they are designated for trial.

You are not FORCED to move. You can stay on a very low pop server it that is your thing.

My beef with low pop is lack of community. There isn't much chat going on. People ask for help and don't get it often. Lack of grouping outside of guild or during off hours.

Some people like that, but I personally hate it, so I moved my guild to a med-high pop. Even before this trial thing.

I saw most of the bigger guild move out to high pop servers too.

That is just temporary. Sure it sucks, but the server was already low populated, so not many people are gonna roll on it to begin with.

I was on a low pop myself and just getting people join server was hard,. Either all the lower level people I got into guild quit 3 days later, or they smartened up and re-rolled on higher pop before transfer came.

Yes we can stay we just have no hope of new people ever, and can not create new characters

so yes we can but they don't make it easy.

You are not FORCED to move. If you guild doesn't want to move, stay with them on your server. There is no issue here. The only thing is you are not going to get any new players on that server until they lift the temporary ban of new characters.
