Well i am not sure how many of you are or hav e been in a position in the IT (Information tech) world but I have been for 20 years. It would seem Trion does have an issue with thier roll out of patches. They are3 providing a payed service and I am sure have internal tests servers to test them selves and then they placed this on the test servers for a massive test for two days. The problems should have shown up then not on live. I can see minor issues crop up but this is the third patch ( I believe I am right there) that they have to take servers down for long lengths of time. There final code is awesome but it seems they need to be more dilligent with thier testing before going live.

Test servers have limited population, different character loadouts, different situations. It is virtually impossible to iron out all of the bugs, but realistic to get a vast majority of them. 3 hotfixes isn't bad for a near 1gb content update.

I myself am a graphic designer. so i understand what u mean, but there can only b so much testing done in test servers, in the end they r doing quiet well and tons better than any mmorpg i have seen in regards to keeping the clientele updates, as promptly as possible Data is not of the things not easily fixed.

My guess on the situation is that because they had to remove the portion for the bank, it caused an instability in the code because they had to rework a good portion of data fast to try and get things up.

I imagine the pressure to get the game online in a reasonable amount of time as promised pushed them to release faulty code they didn't work on long enough.

Stupid comparison, McDonald's is a restaurant chain where consistency is the most important thing....RIFT is a game where CHANGE is #1. Players would get bored without change.....

So here's an example you might appreciate....

When an immature human experiences frustration because they aren't getting exactly what they want, exactly when they want it....they will throw a fit....some people post stupid comments on the forums....others punch holes in the wall....

the wall...much like RIFT...used to be smooth and all one color....now it has a hole in it and needs to be patched....well once it's patched it is no longer the same color....so it needs to be painted....OOPS! should have sanded it smooth before painting it. so, now, i can still see where our little ragequitter threw his temper tantrum (AKA, It wasnt fixed quite perfect the first time) ....sorry kid, but it needs to be sanded and then painted again so your parents can have company over without having to explain that their child is an effing moron, and they did a crappy job of teaching him how to manage his emotions.... The sanding and painting means you need to get our of the computer room for about 3 hours and let the handyman do his job.....

don't be so impatient.

go outside and get some sun or pay attention to your neglected pets.

get over it, grow up.

I understand your concern but .... how many games do you know that comes out and offers a lively environment that changes every month or two that is as stable as Rift ..... give them a break ... I think they deserve it .....
