Lets see - I used to play some text based MMOs in AOL chat rooms back in the day, but as I don't remember the actual dates for those I'll let it go!

My first MMO "game" was Everquest Online Adventures for the PS2. The game was released in 2003. I've sinced played:

    EQ2
    City of Heroes
    Final Fantasy XI
    Guild Wars
    World of Warcraft
    Fiesta Online
    Age of Conan
    Aion
    Star Trek Online
    Rift

There are probably others in there I've forgotten, but you get the drift! Nerd to the core.

    Default I think...

I think about 8 years... Played almost every MMO including some very pathetic ones XD

Btw... I'm a good healer and looking for a good defiant guild to raid on after transfers are available... Been searching the shards forums but not much luck finding out what guilds are actually about. (I play from 7pm-midnight GMT-3)

Currently at Greenscale Shard and not enjoying it

I'm probably going to miss some things - but here we go!

EverQuest: 2000-2009 (There were some on and off periods, but I still have an active subscription today)
PlanetSide: 2003-2005 (Still dive bomb Galaxies from time to time ;))
    Lineage 2: 2004
City of Heroes/Villains: 2004-2007 (a lot of on and off)
    EVE Online: 2004-2007
    World of Warcraft: 2004-2010
    EverQuest 2: 2004 - 2008
    Vanguard: 2005-2008
    Guild Wars: 2005-2006
Lord of the Rings: 2007 (I'm a big Tolkien nerd btw and fittingly it launched on my birthday, haha)
    Warhammer Online: 2007-2011
    DAoC: 2003-2004, 2007-2010
    Ultima Online: 2008-2011
    Aion: 2009-2010
    Final Fantasy XI: 2007-2008
    Final Fantasy XIV: 2010-2011
    And of course...RIFT!

I've played every major AAA MMO (kind of like doing homework ), but only a few weeks of Age of Conan, Champions Online, Star Trek, Tabula Rasa, Auto Assault and a few others I've probably forgotten to list (edit: like DDO and AO, haha). These are in addition to all of the F2P games I've played (Battlefield Heroes, LoL, Maplestory, Mythos, Runescape, Gunz and a bunch of others)

Hah, no motor city online ?! heh the main reason i got addicted to UO, and not just a fan, was because my college roommate played MCO until it closed and they gave him a free account for UO, and the addiction was born.

Played a lot of those as well. Can I claim AOL's online D&D game as a MMO? Or MUDs? Did lots of UT and Quake and Counterstrike lol

EQ, AC, AC2, DAoC, UO, FFXI, CoH/CoV, Shattered Galaxy, Infantry Online, EVE, Lineage 2, GW, DDO, LOTRO, Warhammer, FFXIV, Very brief stint in WoW, Ragnarock Online (RO), Champions, Rift

Played tons of F2P games as well like Kingdom Heroes, Perfect World, Megaten (Shin Megami Tensei), Runes of Magic, Aika, maple story, runescape, mabinogi, last chaos, shaiya, dynasti warriors, FLYFF, Iris, Rappelz, Luna online.. well I could keep going but I wont lol

    Default About 12 years

I played many multi-player MUDs before I got into MMO's, but starting in 1999:

    Lineage 1999
    Everquest 1999 - 2001
Anarchy Online 2001 - 2003 (my first launch, it was painful *and* fun)
    Dark Age of Camelot 2001 - 2002
Final Fantasy XI 2002 (bleh, could only take a couple of months of this one)
Earth and Beyond 2002 - 2003 (loved it. wish it hadn't folded)
    Asheron's Call 2002 - 2003
Shadowbane 2003 - 2005 (my first real taste of mmopvp; hooked ever since)
    EVE Online 2003 - 2008
Star Wars Galaxies 2003 (so disappointing)
    Horizons 2003
    Lineage II 2004
City of Heroes 2004 - 2010 (love the comic book mmo)
    World of Warcraft 2004 - 2010 (love/hate relationship)
    Everquest II 2005 (meh)
    City of Villains 2005 - 2010 (EE-viLL, like the FRU-its of the de-VEEL)
Dungeons and Dragons Online 2006 (bleh)
Auto Assault 2006 - 2007 (another one I loved that fell down went boom)
Lord of the Rings Online 2007 -2009
Tabula Rasa 2007 (when the hell are they going to get a sci-fi MMO right!!!)
Age of Conan 2008 (another love/hate)
    Warhammer Online 2008
Champions Online 2009 (CoX much better)
Aion 2009 (the beginning of the "dark times")
Fallen Earth 2009 - 2010 (still not quite right)
Global Agenda 2010 (fun, but I'm not sure this is an MMO...)
Star Trek Online 2010 (could not be more pissed off as a TOS trekkie)
Rift 2011 (that's more like it)

You'd think after all this I wouldn't fall for the "shiney" launch hype every single time...

Default The most generic of the lot...lol

I started playing World of Warcraft 6 months ago. I quit it 1 month ago and just started playing Rift. Generic at its best

Neverwinter Nights was definitely an MMO. Not 3D, but it meets the standard requirements.
