    Default PTS Updated ~ Scarwood Reach Instant Adventure Open ~ Upcoming Tests

    Hi guys!

    PTS has been updated!

    Scarwood Reach Instant Adventure is now live on the PTS. There will be an official test next week, but don't be shy! Jump in there over the weekend and let us know what you think.

    PTS testing will start in earnest next week as we prepare for 1.10 and beyond. We can't wait to show you the goodies.

    As always, when you group make sure to party responsibly.

    I don't know if you want this feedback right now or not, but I guess it can't hurt. I've been doing Scarwood Instant Adventures on PTS and I came across quite a few bugged ones that just don't complete. I'll just dump their names here just in case anyone at Trion has time to look at the before the testing starts.
    1. Life Momuments - the quest objectives spawn but you can't interact with them.
    2. Pawns of the Aelfwar - the quest text is missing the name of the mobs that have to be killed.
    3. Storm Watchers - no marker shows on the map to pinpoint the quest objective.
    4. Defend Howling Plateau - the NPC that is supposed to spawn the wardstone is not there = no wardstone to defend.
    5. Satyr Slayer - no marker shows on the map to pinpoint the quest objective.
    6. Prince Hylas - after he dies the quest doesn't update.
    7. Nyrel Kilwei - after he dies the quest doesn't update.
    8. Halls of Knolledge - the quest objectives don't spawn.
    9. Althanial Kan - after he dies the quest doesn't update.

    There might be more, but I only did like 100 IAs.
    Also the teleport point for "A dirge for the undying" takes the raid on top of a patrolling guard, which hurts really bad when you're mentored down to 35.

    And the last thing I noticed is that the adventures that take place in and around Shatterbone Cannion tend to send you running up the hill and back down into the cannion way to often. Get's old after some time, maybe there is a way to better filter which quests can alternate in that area.

    Other then this, I loved the adventures. Not boring, there are some new interesting objectives, which I suspect we will also be seeing in Storm Legion and the balance is a lot better. The end bosses are not as overpowered at the ones in Stonefield and some of them are really fun, especially Prince Hylas

    Going to throw in the few niggling things i found as well

    1. Endless Correspondence

    collecting endless orders in and around the tents, you can 'loot' the orders fine, but the item doesn't show in the loot window, also they respawn very fast but you can't loot the same one twice, was able to still finish it though

    2. Wicked Gravity

    "Destroy Storm Spires 0/8"

    A few of the spires were hovering too high above the ground, unclickable, the rest were scattered in some strange 'hidden' places, also there was barely enough found to complete in in the time limit, due to aforementioned out of reach ones

    3. Defend Howling Plateau

    "Protect Howling Plateau from the Planar Invaders"

    As Darklady already pointed out above, went to the spot on the map, nothing, no NPC, wardstones...waited the full 12 mins and it failed

    All the feedback is useful! I already got a bunch of stuff fixed on Friday ready to go out for the next PTS build and will be doing more on Monday.

    That is all fixed and awaiting deployment to PTS. I adjusted the path of the Sanctuary Guard patrol to not come so close to the teleport point. In the case of the boss fights that didn't complete, it was the same issue for every boss that escapes before dying. So any of those are broken on PTS (but fixed awaiting a patch).

    Those are still broken. As above, all the defend adventures are busted. For Wicked Gravity, and a few others in Howling Plateau, I have an offset that is bad, so a bunch of stuff is just appearing in the wrong place. Should be fixed on Monday (not sure when it will get patched to PTS though - hopefully asap).

    For Endless Correspondence, I have an idea of what is broken, but not sure yet how I will go about fixing it yet. Will mull it over the weekend. :P

    In case it is of interest, these are other things I fixed on Friday:

    Faerie Fire - Using Fire bomb does not update IA objective
    Flaming Death - Flags can be used multiple times to increment objective quickly
    Caching Out - Weapon cache loot window shows no loot icon
    Black Market Magitech - Able to select and increment one Vortex Engine repeatedly
    Machinery Of Death - has no interactable objects

    Just a note to the above, Prince Hylas isn't supposed to die at that time in the game (nor in Scarwood anyway) and that had to be changed and patched in the Silverwood IAs to him being defeated and escaping. Please make sure this gets changed before launch this time. Also, make sure the achievement record reads the defeats correctly and will update without a kill. LOL

    Edit - that goes for any other world bosses/npcs that we haven't yet seen in the Scarwood IAs, too.

    Yep, the escape mechanics for those bosses are all in from the beginning this time, and proper achievement credit too. For that matter, I added the same achievement scripting to ALL the bosses this time just to make sure the people on IA got credit for the achievement even if someone outside the raid actually tags the boss first.

    Only part I missed was updating the scripting to actually give quest credit for the bosses that flee. >.<

    I just finished fixing everything in SR IA that I saw either here on the forums or as reported by our internal QA team. It should all be in the next PTS update, so tomorrow if I am lucky. :P

    I also adjusted the teleport distance for which IA will prompt you teleport or allow you to use the IA window to teleport even if it is not the beginning of an adventure arc. This was previously 1000 meters for all zones.

    It is now 750 meters for SR, 600m for GW/SF, and 500m for FM/SW. Hopefully that feels a little better.
